Cousin Vinny

There is a very simalar looking pond a few of towns away from me that I fished a few weeks ago. Of course I was hoping for bass but i got a couple of pickeral (one of them 16 inches) and a couple of yellow perch. I cant explain it but just the look of a flooded stump field like that makes me think there would or should be bass there. I'm still not 100% convinced there wasnt, so I'll try again earlier in the AM

My son and I tried a new pond today. Bennits Pond in Ridgefield Connecticut. Had an insane amount of bass there. Unfortunatly we needed a small boat to get at the better spots there, so that will be the next investment. We caught about a dozen 10 to 14 inch LMB on variety of baits and lures. Other than LMB and sunny's we didnt see another speicies and clearly the LMB is predominant. Yea, I know 10 to 14 inch is not very massive, but where there are small ones there are large ones and there were alot of bass in that pond. Its a huge place and we unfortunatly walked the entire perimeter plus the road down hill going in, which is of course up hill coming out. The darn lilly pads this time of year make the place look like a jungle so a small row boat would be key there. We also tried a couple of smaller ponds close by, but the early morning window was well behind us by then.

Anyone on the board from the lower half of Connecticut have any suggestions on where I can go for big LMB?? I have fished everywhere i knew of recently but I want some new places. I live fairly close to lower westchester NY also, so if need be, i can get a NY license. I've been to several ponds and lakes in Wilton, New canaan, Stamford, and Greenwich but while we caught some i was disapointed with frequency and size. Any locations or techniques appreciated

Hi all, I'm new here and just wanted to check in. I live in Westport Connecticut. I did alot of fishing (salt and fresh) as a kid. Lost contact with the sport as I got older and life got more complicated. About 5 years ago my son (then 7) asked to go fishing and I've gotten back into pretty heavily. I enjoy all sorts of fishing but have really been most preoccupied with LMB. Best day of LMB fishing to date was last year in Florida everglades when my son (now 12) caught an 8 1/2 pounder on a minow Thanks and I hope I learn alot here
