Am I the only one drooling over these?!?!
I like the idea and concepts behind the Okumas, but i dont like the foregrip. Its too long. I want to palm the reel and have direct contact with the rod. Other then that, it sounds delicious.

Am I the only one drooling over these?!?!
Anyone see the Lightning Shock rods from Berkley? Granted, they may not be STEEZ quality, but I'm sure everyone here can appreciate a good deal. Check them out. http://www.tackletour.com/reviewicast08purefishing01.html Unlike some of you, I am fishing on a budget, so this is great news for me!

do they come technique specific?

Sebile Magic Swimmer ?????
Try sticky weight on the front hook, or suspend dots, or even a bigger hook on the front, depending on the desired rate of fall.

Connecticut LMB fishing
You do not need a permit to fish either Lilly or Candlewood, just a valid CT fishing licence. It is SO worth the trip from anywhere to fish those lakes. Hey, anyone here fish the Bryon V. Kerchal Memorial in April?

The best Frog?
My favorite technique is to cast it onto land, and hop it into the water A lot of people don't present it lifelike enough. You'd be suprised how many bass you can catch just by hopping it into the water from shore.

Congrads on the rod. I hope you land some monsters with it.

The best Frog?
The beauty of that frog is that you can use it in open water too. i work it with sparatic light twitches over weeds and around laydowns. However, when fishing around and under overhangs, i walk the dog. This frog requires very little effort to do so. Light jerks of the rod as you reel slowly. You can just about walk the dog inplace with this frog. But expariment. What works for me may not work for you. Get out there and fish. This'll be the last frog you you buy!

The best Frog?
I have pondered the very same question. Which frog is BEST? i did some exparimenting of my own. I threw Rage Tails, Ribbits, Snag-Proofs, and as many other name brand frogs i could find. My conclusion? SPRO's Bronzeye 65. I had an about equal number of bites on this frog then the Bobby's Perfect Frog, but my HOOK-UP ratio was way higher, all other variables consistent. Buy two of these: white and black. Use the white when the sun is out, and black on a cloudy day. DO IT! you wont be disappointed.

Question about trick worms
In simple terms, it is a worm rigged "Texas Style", on a special jighead with a larger hook. Google Shaky Head rig images. Youll see.
-
Question about trick worms
You can't really fish a trick worm the wrong way. Fish it any way you like. Texas, Carolina, Shakey Head, or Wacky. Whatever.

STEEZ SPINNING ROD QUESTION
Ya know, all of this got me thinking... If you had to choose between owning whatever high end bass boat you wanted and mediocre equipment at best, or being a non-boater with highest quality equipment, which would you all choose?

STEEZ SPINNING ROD QUESTION
Alright Hooker, I hear you loud and clear. I certainly can't afford it. But if someone else can, go for it. I wouldn't mind owning one. I just can't see myself forking over $300 bucks for one rod, let alone $400. But ok, I'll have to try it one day.... if I ever win the lottery.

plate of deep divers
Big M, your cranks have inspired me. I have been thinking of designing my own cranks and jerks. Can you give me, and anyone else interested, a summary of tools/materials needed, as well as some literature and advice?

Deep Water Crank Baits
I second the Fat Free Shad. I am a huge supporter of this bait. Bomber just released a new color: Foxy Shad. Its like the sexy shad color. And i also find strike king crankbaits to be very effective. I would choose either the series 5 or 6, but i prefer Fat Free Shads. Line is also important. I would go with Fluorocarbon, Vanish 12#. you can still fish deeper diving cranks in shallower waters (say 7'-10')by using heavier line, like 17# or 20#. This will cause them to dive shallower.

STEEZ SPINNING ROD QUESTION
Ok, i think youre trying to disagree again. In your example, its the DRIVER that makes the difference, reguardless of the car, just like its the FISHERMAN, not the rod. You just agreed with me. Now then, I'm done talking about this, but feel free to debate with yourself.

STEEZ SPINNING ROD QUESTION
I don't care if you disagree with me. Fine. The steez is a good rod, but it wont make you a better fisherman.

Favorite lure mods?
Hooker, Im my previous post, i never once said thank you for the advice. THANKS!

Favorite lure mods?
I understand that, which is why i put the spot in the middle. Bass aim for the eye, or in some cases, like shad or herring, aim for the dot behind the head. Some spiecies developed a tail dot to throw off the bass' aim. Have you ever shot skeet or trap? Its the same concept. You have to lead your target. Its the same concept. Bass aim for the eye because its a point they can see to lead there target. The spot on the tail was developed to throw off their aim. Anyway, im not saying i know more then you. But, if the spot on the tail is meant to cause predators to miss the target, wouldnt you want your fish to aim for the hooks?
