  1. Best: Throw what you are confident in. Worst: "That guy" doesn't know what he is talking about...
  2. Haha! Sweet! Can you make an LSU spinnerbait? I have a friend who would NEEEEEEED to own it if you could!
  3. Run a google search. Youll find them.
  4. I personally like the <7oz reels. they are, obviously, lightweight, but they still balance out my Powell Max rods!
  5. I just know that I am opening up a can of worms, but whatever, I want opinions. I own 4 Premiers currently, no other baitcasting reel. However, I'm not sponsored, and I have been looking at the Shimano Chronarch and Lews Tournament Pro. I love the Premier's dual brakes, high drag test, and LIGHTWEIGHT! However, money is tight and I have rods in need of reels. I cannot justify spending over $175 on a reel anymore. I can get a Lews TP for around $160 and right now, with Shimano's $30 rebate and BPS Classic sale, I can get a Chronarch for $140! However, its a full ounce more than my Premier. I'm torn. I like owning all the same reel because I want it to all feel the same in my hand. If you could buy just one, which would you pick????
  6. Dont hold your breath for a lefty MGX. I'm still waiting for the Revo Premier HS to come out in left hand...
  7. I would Join a different club. Think about it, you are going to spend all that money on a truck, plus boat maintenance, on top of going to college just to fish in tournaments? I would make a friend with a boat and just fish some local Open tournaments instead of "having to buy" a truck or boat. Seriously, that's a bad deal. Don't join that club!
  8. I bet the smallies love that one...
  9. I have had some KILLER DAYS with Strike Kings Series 5 in an unpressured lake. However, Bandits reign supreme in pressured water. I have caught some PIGS on Bandits in cold, pressured water. You may want to also consider H20 Xpress. Go to Academy Sports website and check out their house-brand. They are about $4 a piece (I've seen them for $.88 on sale ), and they catch fish. FLAT OUT CATCH FISH!!!!!! They are about all I use anymore. I love their square bills, but their deep divers get all chewed up by the deep bass up here. Great finishes, too. Try them. They are awesome for the money!
  10. I am curious how Tides in a river (lets just say the Potomac ) effect the bass location on the incoming, high, outgoing, and low tides? Can someone take me through the daily movements of a largemouth bass during prespawn in tidal water? Where do bass spawn in tidal water, with the water level changing every few hours? I can define a "staging area" in "still lakes", but what are staging areas like in tidal water? Would an incoming tide move fish from a staging area to shallow cover, then back to the staging area on outgoing? I need some serious education here. I think the answers to my questions will help educate others as well. Thanks all!
  11. Sweet creations! Keep them coming!!!
  12. I am thinking either a Gammy 474 or an Owner swim jig hook (if I can find it). I want this in a bullet-style jig head with a light 10 or 12 strand weedgaurd. Those come in a vertical eye. I'll PM you. Nice chatters, by the way!
  13. Thanks guys. Here is a general question: How does incoming/outgoing tide effect fish position during thr prespawn/spawn time?
  14. I didnt get your PM yet. how long should it take to get it?
  15. Don't you defeat the purpose of using braid when you tie on a leader? If you feel the need to use a Fluoro leader, just use fluoro, not braid. When you tie a leader on, you create THREE KNOTS: 1) Braid to leader 2) Leader to braid 3) Leader to lure (this one is inescapable) That is THREE CHANCES TO FAIL! I understand the concept of trying to increase sensitivity, but not at the expense of tripling my odds of losing a fish or lure. And its not like you can capitalize on the strength of the braid becuas eyou have three knots and fluorocarbon at the end of it. Just my two cents...
  16. When is Abu Garcia going to offer the Premier in a 7.1:1 left handed???????? They said that they would at ICAST. I just figured maybe someone here knew something. Anyone?
  17. Post some pics of your home made spinnerbaits! If you're proud of them...
  18. Does anyone here make their own vibrating jigs (chatterbaits)? Im thinking about trying it out. Any tips on head design, hook style, blade size? Thanks!
  19. I dont know. I dont make the rules. Any actual fishing advice?
  20. Blue Flake!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like Red Shad and Black Grape. All solid colors.
  21. Can you pm me the name, please????? Thanks!
  22. Pay cash!!! I was having the same dilemma with buying a truck not too long ago. I have an old Nitro that needs some fixing, but I need to buy a truck to pull it first. Seeing as you are a college student, I cant imagine you have much credit, if any at all, and if you do, well, youre still a college student. My point is, save your money and pay in cash. If you cant afford it, then dont buy it and fish as a non-boater in your club (like I do). Consider this also: if you do buy it, and you have a serious mechanical problem (say a $500 fix) willyou have the money to fix it? if not, then you have our answer.
  23. Hey all! Does anyonehere use the Zoom Ultravibe worm? I'm curious as to its pitching/flipping abilities. I'm sure its designed for swimming, but in what other appications have you had success with it?
  24. I THINK (and I'm no expert) that muddy-water fish are more cover related than depth related. I know dirty water causes fish to relate to cover, but I'm not sure what a cold front would do. These guys are fishing like you would track a bleeding deer: if you have to leave it overnight, go to the last place that you found blood and start there. These giys are starting where they last found fish, and if they dont find them there, they will start looking closeby.
