  1. Hi Guys, I need to replace the transducer on my trolling motor because it has taken a pounding and not operating properly. I currently have a skimmer style transducer on the bottom of by trolling motor and was wondering if anyone is using the Pod Style on their trolling motor and your thoughts on these? Thanks
  2. You can drive down to Morganton or Marion to Lake James for Walleye, White Bass, Smallmouth, and Largemouth. The white bass offer some excititement starting next month!!! Clear Lake though and difficult to bass fish. There is also Lake Hickory and Lake Rhodhiss which are better bass fishing and catfishing lakes.
  3. Rhodhiss is decent, it gets fished pretty hard this time of year though with all the tournaments. I haven't fished Hickory that much but I often here some good stories (lies). Lake James is just outside of Morganton off NC18 and has some decent Walleye, White bass, Smallmouth, and Largmouth but it is crystal clear and very hard to fish. Its also one of the most scenic lakes you will ever see. You can also enjoy watching the bald eagles on James while you fish!

Do you suggest throwing dirrectly into the schools of baitfish or go beyond and retrieve back through?
  6. Just wondering if anyone on here fishes Lake James. Its really clear and very tough to fish in my opinion. Looking for some tips. I usually put the boat in at the film site for "Last of the Mohicans" the Linville access, fish that end of the lake. Also anyone that fishes Lake Rhodhiss I would apprectiate any info I can get. I'm new to this area. Thanks J
  7. Hey guys! I'm new to the forum but not new to fishing. I do have a question though about trying to catch fish that are hitting baitfish around my boat. Last weekend I was fishing a small island in the middle of the lake and suddenly the baitfish out in about 25-30ft of water starting going nuts so I know there was something chasing them. This went on for probably 30 minutes on and off. I threw spinner baits, crankbaits, and even some plastics in the action and couldn't get a strike. I know there are Stripers, Largemouth, and smallmouth in this lake but I'm not sure what was chasing the baitfish. Any ideas on how to capitalize on the action? Thanks J
