  6. Nice job Janet! Congratulations! http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_123/bass-arkansas-river-open-2.html
  7. So if you think being a pro angler is all about being paid to go fishing, think again. The economic realities are harsh. Don Barone brings this dark subject to light in his latest article: http://www.bassresource.com/fish-fishing/bass-fishing-money
  8. The log on this site is the one my fishing buddy and I created back in 1989. I've been using it ever since. In 1998, I thought maybe others might like to use it to. So I posted it on this site back then. Ever since, there have been dozens of duplicates and copy-cats have been made, but none as good as the original. If logs were worthless, then that would've never happened. 'nuff said.
  9. Also check the "best of" thread pinned at the top of the forum. There's a couple of terrific crankbait threads that will really accelerate your learning. Good luck!

  11. Most of them own their own business in one form or another, whether it's in the fishing industry or outside of it. If they don't outright own business, then they're partners with somebody. For some of the really big names, their "identity" (i.e. "brand" or "personality")is a business unto itself (endorsements, appearances, books, DVDs, product lines such as rods, reels, and lures.....the list is endless). Despite what many people think, these guys don't have "agents". They do most of it themselves or in rare cases, in conjunction with a PR consultant.

  16. Wow! An answer directly from the manufacturer in 30 mins. That's impressive!
  17. That says it all. If you haven't done any routine maintenance, then you're going to have problems. Take it into a shop and have them perform a full tune up - including changing the water pump impeller. Chances are, your spark plugs are worn out and/or your fuel filter is clogged. Routine maintenance replaces these. I'd also have them replace the gear oil (lower unit oil) while they're at it, or you could end up with costly repairs very soon. I recommend having this done every year, except replacing the impeller, which should be done every 2 years. In addition, there's been a few recalls on the engine since you bought it, so you should have the necessary upgrades performed as well. Those should be free. Good luck!
