Wow 11 bearings. Not much of a difference from the original, which I currently got a couple weeks ago. The only difference is 11 bearings and a different handle. If its the same price I might get one

I go fishing at Miller Park in Lisbon, Maine. I've been there like 15 times this summer and can't catch a thing. The water is all dark brown and I haven't even got a bite except for today. I'm going to Sports Authority and Dick's this weeked let me know what to pick up. I don't care what you reccommend. I was thinking of those jigs. Idk what to buy.

I was in the same boat as you. I just got my reel recently on the 16th and when I was fishing it the same day I noticed it squeaked and squealed a little every 3 turns. Just by some reel oil and it will fix her up.

After I saw this I was like wow I want to do that. Just wondering could you weld the aluminum to the boat and weld the other aluminum together? Or would that be harder to do?

That's a mean thing to say. We're all here from one reason, we love fishing and want to share our advice. I would agree with everyone get a used boat that will fit your needs and save the rest or pay for your own books. Common having your Grandma pay for part of your education?

How much did this project cost you? Even include the boat price in it.

I went fishing today and baitcasting was pretty easy. I got only one birdnest but nothing too big. Thanks for encouraging me to keep at it for baitcasting. BTW I got a Field and Stream rod today its 6'6 and was only $25. I could cast 60 feet with out even trying.

That happens to me all the time. I get my powerbait shaky worm snagged on a rock and I yank my line and all of a sudden it comes loose and I duck and it ends up hitting my rod towards the bottom. Happened 3 times this month. Whew talk about lucky.

I don't think any fishing company warranty covers rod abuse. (Got stepped on)

Man that reel is usually $60. Where did you buy it?

Maybe I am wrong. Should I get a Shimano Sojourn or a Field and Stream casting rod? I'm getting a 6'6 and there almost the same price.
