  1. You can say that again ,I have always had a ton of Senko's but rarely used them until I moved to Virginia and the smallies love them .Can't wait to see some of those Northern Smallies.
  2. Very nice fish gotta love the topwater bite when it happens but a fish like that would be awesome on anything .Thanks for sharing .
  3. One of the greatest combos you could have smallies and the flyrod .Recently moved out here from California and picked up a 6 wt rod some poppers and some subsurface lures . I fish the James river around the Lynchburg area and have had some nice days ,but as mentioned the better fish have been on the wet line ,but you gotta love that blast when they tear up the popper .Hopefully the fish will make a rebound on the river and we will start to see some of those bigger fish I have heard about .
  4. Wat to go on that nice smallie ,me being from the west coast and new to the east haven't done alot of smallmouth fishing ,have a couple in the 2 1/2 range looking for the bigger fish myself .
  5. I think alot is personal preference ,but I go with a G-Loomis GL3 7ft medium action with a Quantum pt spinning reel with 8lb line .The rod and action are up to you and the cost of such blanks and combos is up to you, buy the best you can afford and leave it at that the fish don't see the rod or reel it is what you are comfortable with .
  6. Nice bass any time you can catch them ,congrats on a good night time outing . Any Cats ??
  7. Awesome collection of baits and pic's of the fish the one I love the best it the pic of the left hand retrieve reel .All mine are lefty's thanks for the photo's awesome fish .
  8. I think we are all on the quest for that one fish that will make us happy for the moment then we are looking fot the next one .Fishing the James River in Virginia I am looking for that 20 inch small mouth the biggest so far is approx: 17 inches and 2+lbs but they use to grow much bigger . Coming from California and fishing the California Delta for bass I want something that will compete with the bass out there ,especially the frog bass 10+ lbs. I think we are always on the quest for that one better fish than we caught before .
