  1. I'm currently getting a B.S. in business administration, and considering an MBA as soon as I'm done. So I should be able to find something almost anywhere. Bt I am so sick of cold and snow that I can't stand it anymore.
  2. Lieutenant Shiny Sides. Unoriginal, I know, but still think it's an awesome name for a fish.
  3. Believe me, I'm considering it when I'm done with school. What would you consider the best part of the state for bass fishing? I've considered Jacksonville, because of the Mayo Clinic. I live in Rochester, home of Mayo.
  4. Advertising, just like this site, and most others. The more traffic a site has, the more lucrative it's advertising revenue.
  5. Oddly enough, I was just thinking today how nice it would be to have all the articles on the site available on my iPhone, so that I could access them even without an internet connection, or cell service. I've seen apps like this from some other non-fishing sites, so I know it's possible. How about it Glenn? I'd pay for an app like this.
  6. So, I just found out my area has a winter storm watch this weekend. Up to 6 inches of snow. I am sick of this state. If you guys could pick the ideal place to live with respect to fishing year round, where would it be?
  7. So, with all the talk about Bill Dance earlier, I thought it would be a good place to post this link: http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/bassmaster/news/story?page=b_fea_DOTL_Dance_20090331 It's about Dance's Day on the Lake in this months Bassmaster Magazine.
  8. Anybody try one of these yet? I'm curious how they would compare to a Mojo rod.
  9. So I finally got the Curado I bought off eBay, after 3 weeks. Today was the first day I got to use it, aside from putting line on it. It's a Bantam CU-201, spooled with 30# Rapala stretch braid, paired with a 6'6" MHF Falcon Cara. I have never thrown a baitcaster in my life before today, but some of the horror stories I've heard made me nervous. Well, I won't lie. I had two "overruns," but that was it. I actually got decent distance, though my accuracy isn't great, but I'm sure that will come in time. One question. A few times when I threw, the line had buried into the spool, and just stopped dead. I assume it was after I had snags I put too much tension on the line. Does this happen with mono as well, or is that a characteristic of braid?
  10. Just taking a survey. What is your most used: 1.Brand of jig? 2. Model, 3. Color, and 4. Size
  11. Welcome. I can't begin to tell you how much I've learned from this site. Everyone is really nice, and willing to answer any question, no matter how simple.
  12. Thanks guys. I'd heard good things about Falcon Rods, so I figured it was hard to go wrong, especially at that price. That it just so happens to be perfect for the techniques I tend to use the most is a bonus.
  13. As I posted in another thread, I bought a Curado off eBay, and I needed a new rod for it, as I only had spinning rods. The manager at Gander Mountain gave me this rod for $80, brand new. What technique would it be best used for? Falcon Cara T7, MHF Model #CC-5-166MH-T7
  14. On a 5'9" ML F pro tourney rod and Shimano Sedona 2500 reel, with a purple worm rigged wacky style. 20" LM, approx. 5 lbs.
  15. Thanks guys for all the info. I picked it up for $65, so I'm not expecting like new condition. I expect it to need a little work. I've emailed the seller to get definite information on model and year. I'll post again when I find out the specifics. The seller I bought from has a high approval rating and has been selling for almost ten years, and I used PayPal, so I'm hoping that they would protect me if I got scammed.
  16. Thanks for the tips guys. Any idea how much a standard tune-up would cost, roughly? And also, in reply to the last question, it is not a green curado. This is the actual photo of it.
  17. Hi guys. I just purchased a used Curado, and before I use it I'm wondering how I should get it ready. Disassemble it? Oil it? This will be my first baitcaster. I don't even have a rod for it. Yet. Any advice would be much appreciated.
