  1. I am currently picking out a Crankbait rod for large, deep diving baits (>15ft). This rod also has to do double-duty for Swimbaits up to 1 oz. I am reading different reviews about picking out one thats 7ft as opposed to 7'6. So I am asking, is there going to be much difference between the two lengths, or is it more personal preference? Thanks
  2. I also agree its a gimmick. I had a Diawa Triforce reel with a flipping switch, and it broke within the first few trips. Its just like the anti backlash reel from Abu Garcia, which was another gimmick that just broke. I leaned throughout the years that simple is best, and company's will do anything to try to stay ahead of the competition. Dave
  3. I guess they all live in Mud Huts since most houses are made out of lumber.
  4. I use a variety of colors depending on time of year and forage, but my go to color is white. Thinking out of the box is important. In the spring when the Redwing Blackbird chicks hatch, I will sometimes throw a Grey jig with a white pork against the bank to simulate a chick that has fallen out of the nest. This has been very successful in some lakes that are just mobbed with these birds. Just watch out, they like to divebomb. Dave
  5. Fall is my favorite time of year to fish as well. I have just added the finishing touches on some big spinnerbaits and they are ready to be put to use. Hopefully the Pickeral don't claim them all like last year. My only complaint is that the days are too short, but that is why work gives you sick time. Dave
  6. I just wanted to introduce myself before I start posting on subjects. My name is Dave and I am located on Wrong, I mean Long Island. I found this site while looking for discussions about barometric pressure and its relationship to fishing. I am enjoying reading the discussions and hopefully I will be able to add to them. 8-) See you on the water Dave
