Ponds
PS A sad commentary: One sure sign of fisjh in a pond is all the snelled hook wrappers and styrofoam bait containers so called " fisherman" leave littering all around the shore :-[

How big before you HAVE to keep it and mount it.
Don't know if I could ever mount another one. My wife doesn't like the two twins I have mounted hanging in the livingroom. There really isn't room for another one. Seriously though, I probably will never mount another one. My hearts twice as big as it was some 20 plus years ago.

Fishing Belews Lake, NC
I only live about 6 miles from Belews Lake. Can anyone tell me anything about it? I usually put in at the Pine Hall boat landing. I know there are a lot of big bass in the lake because I've seen quite a bit of them. I just fished it today and the temp was 54 degrees. Most of the fish I was marking were 20 to 25 feet down. What lures would you recommend I use? Where are some of the good places to fish on Belews Lake at this time of the year? Any help would sure be helpful. Thanks.

Most fun bass I've ever caught!
Really nice fish!! A fish like that would make my year. Yeah, its been slow for me this year. Next month you will still be talking about that fish.

Have you ever caught a bass with no help from the hook??? I did.
One of those moments you'll never forget and neither will I and I wasn't even there. I could never be that lucky. At some point in time I would have jerked the worm out before I would have gotten the fish to the boat.

Eliminate line or knot breakage
I've seen anglers on TV shows using what they called a loop knot. They say it illiminates the use of a split ring and allows the lure to act natural. Does anyone use this knot and can someone show me how to tie it?

Best Low Memory Mono

difference in motor guide and minn kota?
My first boat had a minn kota on it and it was electric steer. I always had problems with the foot pad. I replaced it with a motor guide. It really worked well except I noticed it wasn't as guiet as the minn kota. I never had any problems out of it though. I'm on my third boat now and still using motor guide. The motor guide on my boat does have a flaw though. It won't run unless I have my foot on the pedal. I wish there was a way to make it run all the time. There are times when that feature is very useful. I couldn't vote for either one mainly because I've only owned one minn kota.

Carolina Rig
Try using downsized lures. When the water gets colder I would use smaller lures and fish deeper water. If your determined to fish carolina rig then try using a zoom fluke or possibly a 4" lizard.
