  1. What makes the fluke irrestistable to fish is the erratic, random movements. Its has no set pattern. It drives fish nuts. Thats why they strike it so hard. If you work it fast and hard enough, it will break the surface. Watch for the explosion of the bass. I love fishing a weightless fluke. There is nothing like it. When the bite is on, there is nothing like it.
  2. OK, I'll help you out. This is one of my favorite techniques. I use a spinning rod and reel. My setup is a 6'10" Med. action, fast tip. I use 10lb fluorocarbon line. I texas rig a Zoom super salty fluke(5.25 inches) with a 3/0 Gamakatsu EWG hook. Make sure the fluke is straight after rigging. Cast out and start twitching the rod at a downward angle. Vary your rhythm. Let the fish dictate your speed. I like to fish it very eradically and fast. To me, it makes all the difference. Do be afraid to really jerk the rod to the side during retrieval. If the fish are aggressive, hold on to your rod, they will slam it hard! You can obviously fish a fluke many different ways, but this is the way I fish it and it works for me. Just this past week, I caught 40 bass in 4 days with just this technique. And I wasnt fishing all day. Only 3 hrs a day. Once the water starts to cool off in the 60's, they will really start biting the fluke.
  3. If I remember corectly, these reels retailed for $180. Not sure. They are still very popular today. If you look on ebay or any fishing forum, you will see a lot of people bid or pick them up right away. Especialy the E750. In excellent condition, they still bring $80-$100. They are very solid and will not give you issues. Just lube it up and fish.
  4. Great to hear. I do regular maintenance with oiling the reels monthly myself, its time though for a thorough cleaning and relubing. I will contact them in a few months.
  5. I own one of theses reels. Its an excellent cranking reel. Looks great and is well built. The only down side I can think of is its slighlty too heavy, especially when you compare it to the newer reels. It really doesnt bother me though. I have 5 of theses Energys and they have performed flawlessly and still look like new. I wouldnt hesitate to buy another.
  6. weightless fluke.
  7. I also like big, single blade spinnerbaits in black.
  8. You know what always worked for me? A 10" power worm, texas rigged, in black, purple, or dark red.
  9. Yep. In fact, I did the same today. Was throwing a top water popper and any misses or disinterest, I threw a weightless zoom fluke. DEADLY!!!!!
  10. I am considering them. I have 20 reels that I'd like serviced. Thats a lot of money. I wonder if they offer a discount for multiple reels? I'll have to send a few ata a time.
  11. Awesome pics! where was that?
  12. I have a bunch of reels I need to send out to get cleaned and re-lubed. Where is everyone sending theirs? BTW, I use Quantums.
  13. By far my favorite presentation for the fall is a weightless zoom fluke.

If I had to pick one spinnerbait combo, it would be a double willow(1 silver,1 gold) white/chartruese, 3/8 oz.
  15. Thanks, but is the comparable phoenix as loaded as this bass cat? This bass cat has everything, including the extended warranty for the motor. He said the $48K is on the high end of his quote because he hasnt gotten a price yet on the motor. It will be lower then $48K. I will look into them, but I am pretty sold on bass cat right now.
  16. Ok, here is some new info I found out. He is a Bass Cat rep that travels less then 100 miles from home to fish. He works 6 days a week so he obviously doesnt fish everyday. He does only local tournaments. He lives 10 minutes from Champlain. He garages his boats and does full maintainence with the best fluids. He baby's the boat. All warranties transfer over. He will be the first owner on the title and I will be the second. If anything needs replacement before I pick it up, for example, lights, rod straps, anything, it will be fixed or replaced by Bass Cat before delivery. He is puting me in contact with a previous buyer of his boat. And, thats pretty much it. If you guys can come up with any other questions I should ask, let me know.
  17. Thanks guys! He said he has sold 2 boats like this before and he also bought one like this too. He said I will have 6.5 yrs warranty on the motor and the boat has a transferrable lifetime warranty. I will ask about the electronics warranties. He told me he can save me over $15K. As is right now, the price would be $48K. He said he can give me a reference too.
  18. Me too. I also like 12lb invizx
