I have a pair of Oakley half jackets and love them. It is true that good sunglasses are just as important as good gear. I really do recommend the half jackets that way I can switch the lenses to meet the light. You can pick up lenses and frames on ebay pretty cheap.

Hey I am from Valparaiso and am working on getting a boat but not yet. I am up for going whenever. I know of some good smallmouth spots up on lake michigan in Portage that you can get from shore. Let me know when you guys are going out.

I have a pair of Oakley half jackets with the blue lenses, amber lenses, and titanium lenses. The lenses are very easy to change and these three cover all water types and all light conditions. Like everyone else says, it is worth every penny to get good eye wear and quality of the polarization is better then anything else out there.
