  1. Don't foget a soft plastic jerkbaits, they can be great for the cruisers and prespawners... if there are any left by the 23rd.... jeez it can't get here soon enough
  2. grub or paddletail in clear water, anything with lots of movement in dirty water, frogs, double tail grubs, swimming chunks, Bigger paddletail. Bounce it off cover and hold on
  3. Pink and white, chart silver and white, and white with white blade fished at mach 2
  4. The way this spring is going in MN I would expect pre- to spawn, but be prepared for all 3.
  5. That must be a RageCraw? Or a knock off, one nice looking trailer either way..... Im gonna go up stairs and break out the clay and see if I can make my own
  6. Wow who ever said that it would be "hard" to release a fish like that lives in a different world than me, I couldn't kill that fish... but thats just me... nice fish anyway
  7. fishingskirts.com... Charles is a great guy and by far the best prices on skirt material
  8. Gman, nice looking jig, but if you are getting "pooling" problems with powder paint it is from heat control, try to only het your jig hot enough to hold the paint without flashing (just looks like a powder still after you pull it out of the cup) If you get your jig to hot it will collect to much powder and cause that paint bump on there. When you are heating your jig with a torch turn (if you use a torch like I do) turn the torch down to the point it is almost going out, heat the jig till it turns to that nice shine (about 3-4 seconds for a 3/8 ounce jig) then swirl around in the paint, it shouldn't flash immediately, if it does you were to hot try holding the jig to the flame for a shorter period for your next jig!
  9. Any idea on Water temp? I would start looking to SLLLOOOWWWW areas of the river, areas with little current, whether its just a large eddie or some feature of the river that slows the current down. Like inside turns, usually after a riffle there is an area with little to no current, you just have to find those areas and fish em, process of elimination!
  10. I would have stayed away from the crowds, not all the fish are spawning at once, theres still fish deep, fish in transition, if your not good at sight fishing practice it someother time besides tourney time. Me I am horrible at sight fishing, since are season is closed up here during the spawn it is rare to sight fish. there is still bass available in other parts of the lake ast any given time though!
  11. :'( :'( :'( 6 degrees here today
  12. There are a couple places that do alot of work for some of the big name manufactorers, they also offer some of the stuff, that is not a custom made mold for a specific customer up in bulk. Most manufactorers have there baits shot with there formulas, there scent, so on and so forth, so why the baits may look identical they usually are slight differences in the plastisol or scent added (salt, plastic formula and etc)

I think I read a study done somewhere sometime ;D that a bass can eat prey up to 75% of its body length if its the right shape. Long and thin was the shape, so that would put fish around 19-20 inches that actually think they could eat that thing, the 15-16"ers just don't know they are still small ;D
  14. I do it all the time, then if its a hit, you can mold it so you can pour it again! (well with some baits) it is alot of fun
  15. Theres not enough lead on the 1/16oz (or 1/8 or 3/16 for that matter) to keep em from doing that, plus theres no collar or anything down the hook, it will help some if your molds hotter but it never goes away, just make sure its straight when its powder coated and it will be good to go!
  16. I love em in the spring and when theres dirty water, Smallies tear em up, the Walleyes around my area love em to... go figure
  17. I have one of broggi's pots in the vid and they are sweet!
  18. I to need them powder painted, try wrapping the weedguard in tinfoil then painting and curing at 250-290 for a longer period of time (like 30 minutes)I haven't done it in a while but it does work
