We usually fish Russell every spring. From what I have witnessed Beaverdam creek is as good as any. Seems like all the big cove from Beaverdam on to the dam are good.

Thanks for the comeback there hellp, we will be in a 16' aluminum pulling with a white toyota tacoma with Tennessee tags and will be there for 8 days. Planned on doing artifical and shinner fishing. Wife had foot surgery and can not stand any length of time to throw artifical so mostly we will shiner fish using circle hooks. We will arrive on Sat some time, we are in no hurry. Hope to see you there. Dont have tags on trailer, hope we dont get caught

Will be pulling out for central Fl today with wife and boat. Fishing around the Orlando area, Johns Lake to be exact. Any advise would be helpful, driving 12 hrs to get there.

Does any one know about the conditions at the Best Value Inn located in Winter Garden. I plan on staying there starting Jan. 3-10. Would you stay there????

I am trying to find a reasonable priced place to stay for a week. The only place I have been able to find is Motel Effiency Apts. What can you tell me about this place. I am driving 12 hrs and dont want to stay in a dump. :-/

Since I will be staying in The villages at lady lake, which one of these lakes would be the best bet for my wife and I to take some good lmb in mid-jan? We have never fished either one. We will be coming down from Tennessee. Any help would be appreciated.

Since I plan on coming down in Jan. I would like to know the nearest place to buy shiners around Johns lake and also around lake Dora.

Thanks for the reply, I lived in South FL during my Jr High years. Lived in Coconut Creek. We try to return every couple of years just to Shinner fish some new areas.

I am from Upper East Tennessee. I have been fishing since I was 4 yrs old. My Uncle lived in South FL. and introduced me to fishing at a young age. I have bass fished for 45 years or more. I sold my bass rig a few years ago and purchased a 16 flat bottom with a 30 hp motor to fish rivers. Have been smallmouth fishing the Nolichuckey River here now for 5 years and the largest so far is 6 lbs. I love to pm other fishers and discuss their areas and techniques. Never too old to learn.

I am new to this site and this is my first post. My wife and I plan a bass fishing trip to the Harris Chain mid Jan. Plan on fishing one of the smaller lakes. Have centered in on Lake Dora. I would appreciate any help or advise about this chain and this lake.
