I love bass fishing with a fly rod. In fact, there are many times when it is the most effective way to fish. For example, when working a ditch that goes through pads or other veggies, or a line of standing wood, you can make a cast and give it three or four bloomps or twitches right along the edge and then pick it up and move over a foot and do it again with out retrieving the lure all the way back to the boat. I especially love doing this from the kayak in shallow water while sitting side straddle or wading after sneaking in the kayak. Chad

That is true when using a static test. If using an actual thrust test is closer to 133 foot pounds. Chad

Ditto on the spooks! I have success on the Pop-R, Sammies, etc., but the spooks just work great. If I had to chose a better bait (but not by much) for the sake of recommending something different it would be the Rapala Skitterwalk or Skitterpop. They are by far my favorite topwater stick baits.
