  1. I'll trade you for the regular Supreme Handle....PM me. I have a brand new one too. Still on the reel, still in the bag, still in the box.
  2. Shimano dropped lots of people. And those guys were with Quantum for longer than Shimano. Back in the In-Fisherman days.
  3. Or he wasn't actually selling anything for them, so they dropped him. And since people aren't lining up to sponsor him, he took what he can get....
  4. I'm surprised that people still say and believe this, and that it is even debatable.
  5. IPT on the Pflueger Supreme and XT is very high. I use 8030 Supremes. Great reel. Even without some wizz bang line management they are GREAT line managing reels. Very light, fast, smooth, and only 100 bucks.
  6. I'm guessing that it is hard for him to find sponsorships. He took what he can get.
  7. The premier is.. I set the hook and the bail spins or "slips" regardless.. I do not have that problem with any of my STXs.. And no the drag on the S isnt giving me any problems.. just looking for projects to do this winter to pass the time.. A carbontex washer for a old school Abu round reel works perfectly for under the main gear. Lose the stock junk washer that is under there. Then ad a carbontex washer and metal washer to the main stack.
  8. The drag is pretty solid in those reels as is....I would grease the stock washers and call it good. For the S, your biggest improvements will be in Bearings, and spool changes.
  9. we are getting the boys a Wii for christmas, and when they are't playing I'll be playing the new KVD bass fishing game. ;D
  10. So I got what was supposed to be a NEW reel, and it's plain to see it has been apart. The screws have some of the finish scratched off and the areas around the screws are scratched up and hit with touch up paint. There are about 8 spots on the reel that have tiny touch ups. I'll probably keep it because it was cheaper than retail/new, and because 'I' have to pay shipping back and take a 10% restocking fee.......But it still ticks me off.
  11. Even at full price the J/M Elite is a great rod. Sensitivity is great, and is really light weight. It only has a one year warranty, but most other rods are going to cost you another $50 to get a replacement with their "lifetime" warranty. (Loomis, St Croix)
  12. Not sure. But I would like to have a rod shortened at the butt end, and have a nice looking balancer put on it. I'll be watching this thread.
  13. He advertises the rocket fisherman. He lost any credibility he had with me when he did that. I personally don't like him so much, that I wouldn't buy based solely on that. But as for the rod, I'll say what can you really believe? Again he promoted the rocket fisherman.
  14. That is exactly what I bought mine for. Jigs but not flipping. It's a great rod, but the 7'6 has a handle just a touch longer than I like. I'm going to use it for soft plastics this year, and use a slightly shorter handled rod for jigs. These rods are EXCELLENT. Even at full price. I gave my vote for the Falcon. Made in USA, quality, good performance.
  15. Ignoring gloss, which a black rod can have, white is much less visible under water looking up, than black is. I guess if you wanted to be that picky you could paint all your rods primer gray, or matte baby blue. Just sayin'
  16. I guess I need to try some of the tricks to get a screw lock or post to go into a 3x worm. I like em' but holy hell are they a pain to rig. I thought a barbed jig head like the strike king or bite me shakey heads would be the answer. Nope. Easier, but still a PITA
  17. Those are pretty nice. I got one a month or so ago. Swapped 7.1 gears and a carbon handle in/onto it the same day I got it. ;D I want to get another one, but I want so many other things that I'm going to skip it. This winter has been extra bad for me.
  18. +1 I had the same impressions from a quick in store inspection.
  19. With the whole "nano" tecnology thing, and the white blank, I can't help but suspect these rods are ALOT like the Duckett rods.
  20. Are those Netcraft bodies?
  21. Any feedback on these? Action, how do they suspend etc. I had a guy custom paint a jerkbait for me, and he put a TINY smudge on it. To make up for it he sent a custom painted Netcraft Pointer. They look nice, but I've not used it yet. I did a search and came up with nothing.
  22. The Asaro is a nice compact reel with dual braking. There are some on ebay now, that are in your price range. Just don't get the wide version, or WLP
  23. Thanks LuckyCraftMan! There were a few things upgraded on the XT, but in the end I'm happy with the Supreme I already have, so why change? Plus I felt that was a pretty good deal. Not earth shattering but still. And I think I have the rod choice narrowed down to two.
  24. How does the Legend Tournament compare to other rods in that price range? I was looking at just Loomis rods, but checked out a L/T St Croix over the weekend that I liked. A 7ft M "Tube Rod" Specifically how sensitive vs other rods. I got an idea of it's action and weight.
  25. He is a really cool dude IMO. Started following him back in the In-fisherman days. He was my favorite when it came to Musky fishing.
