Yeah craws are very good for smallies...get a jig that looks like a craw...

If you want a great fight i would go with a feather light rod w/ 2 or 4 lb test and a small rooster tail or pheobe...rapallas work well too.

Ive tried everything...and it seems like trout hate me...What i the best method for catching trout?

You and a group of guys can stand on 3 inches of ice...im in southern NY still burning holes in the ice...i was on greenwood lake last weekend in 50 degree weather and the ice was 14 inches thick...you could drive a 10 ton truck on that...ice fishing is fun. just go for it...Orange County NY!!
