  1. first boat: 14' jon w/9.8 merc. current: 2005 Triton TR186LE 150 Merc.
  2. 2000 Ford F250 Super Duty, 8.5" lift, 35" tires. have 11" drop on the hitch. Mucho over kill for a bass boat.
  3. bought a new triton in june this year from a dealer that is ~150 miles away. the guys in DFW were $2-3000 higher. brought it back a couple of times for breakin check up and minor details. still worth saving the 3 grand. dealers in the big city charge what they want to. you will likely save money getting outside of town. any triton dealer will work on the boat and any merc. dealer will work on the motor but going back to the dealer that it was purchased from you tend to get priority service.
  4. Just installed LMS 480M with LGS 2000. very simple to do. you got shorted if there were no screws and nuts in the box. as far as clips go, i think they assume you will use wire ties, they are cheap and easy to use. the included owners manual has pretty good instructions. one common mistake people make is that they assume power to the antenna comes from the unit. the NMEA power and the unit power both must be connected to 12 volts and grounded. the white wire from the unit power can be cut and taped reds from unit and NMEA together to 12 volts, blacks, and the nekid wire go to ground. hope this helps.
