  1. I have always found that when this continued to occurr, I was fishing for bluegills, warmouth perch, etc........the simple answer is move locations. In one of my first visits to the upper St.Johns River, many years ago, this continually happened, until I slowly reeled in a blue crab. They were driving me crazy, setting the hook and bringing in a cut off worm behind the hook. Lessen learned!!!!
  2. You're a lucky man Gar-Tracker living that close to such a fine fishery.
  3. I fished an open draw bass tournament on Okeechobee in 1978. There was 278 boats entered. The hot bait and technique was Cordell Hot Spots in "Smoky Joe" fished around and thru the rat-tail reeds. I came in 18th with 28#s and was very proud of that finish. The next tour I fished down there was a little later when the 1st Lunker Lure buzzbaits came out. I had over 35#s in the first hour fishing over pepper grass and didn't win. That lake has been my favorite since my Dad first took me there in 1949 and we caught over 100 bass before lunch in Harney Pond canal after an all night rain at the mouth of an irigation ditch flooding into the canal. Lots of great memories.
  4. Marty, All of those baits are right-on. Great tail-spinners,that would make Jim Bagley proud. I knew him and visited his factory many times. Those other baits are really interesting, new versions of top water baits that need to get wet. Great job, as always Marty!!!!!!

I like um all!!! Where's my breams??? Beautiful work Marty, as always.
  7. Barry, I have caught a ton of bass on the spotted ape color pattern DH. Your version is the best I've seen. I really think your Gizzard Shad is killer and the bream, as always, superb. As far as the old mudbugs, they were the early models of deep divers and did catch fish, but there were a lot more to catch then. I do like your crackle, especially the crawfish. The absolute master of bottom bumpers is "Big Marty". His baits by far exceed anything I've ever thrown.
  8. I can highly recommend "Big M" for custom made crank-baits. I have purchased and used successfully many different models and color combos of baits that he makes. Marty is an absolute craftsman in this field and very easy to work with.
  9. Hometown Baits, in the Nashville area, is a custom pour plastic baits company who has a large selection of colors and glitters. Their baits are very soft and float very well, both important ingredients in a good hand-pour product. I highly recommend their products.
  10. Marty, I'm always excited to see new postings exhibiting the fruits of your labor and talent. I especially like the pattern on the first lure and could see that pattern duplicated over and over again, using different color choices. Super Job!!!
  11. They really look like they could entice a strike.
  12. Golden Shiner in tannic stained water Chart with black back in green water Silver with Blue back in clear water This is my go to starting color selection, then variations from these.
  13. My favorite is Kissimmee Grass [aka..joint grass] although hydrilla can be most productive as well.
  14. This endorsement thing is all about money and marketing. The big corps. have the largest budgets so they can pay the most for Pro's services. Therefore they can get the pick of whom they want to represent them. It has a lot to do with the personality and marketability of the particular Pro. I've caught bass on everything from the cheapest cane pole to the most expensive custom rods and reels. What really matters most is where, when, how, and who is doing the fishing.
  15. Your baits all have such vivid and well blended colors. They are sure to entice a lot of bites. Are you blending them into floating/soft consistency?

Big Marty, you've done it again!! I really like that 1st bait color. That's one I don't have. You continue to amaze me with your talents.
  17. What I think is very interesting is viewing all of the different techniques and innovations from so many different geographic areas.
  18. Those are some great looking baits!!!!
  19. They all look great Marty!!! Send em on.
