Hydrilla Verticillata  ;)

Kissimmee grass with mixed spatterdock or pads.Lots of presentation options here.

My favorite is Kissimmee Grass [aka..joint grass] although hydrilla can be most productive as well.

Anything but snot grass. :P

SE Kansas grass grower

I hate snot grass as well, I fish nothing but weightless stuff or topwaters in it!

I really like Hydrilla, but the grass on the coosa river lakes, that doesn't grow but on the bank is awesome, we call it "Alligator Grass".  And no, it isn't tullies, reeds, or cattails.

I haven't really thought of it in terms of a favorite type.  I catch the most fish from coontail and milfoil but that's because that is the type of vegetation that flourishes in the lakes I fish.

A mixture of hydrilla and pondweed.

Hydrilla x 2. Good stuff.

Due to regional differences and differences in soil content,

it really depends on the lake in question (ain't no shortcuts).

In central Florida, the plant hierarchy is crude and variable:

Emergents> Spatterdock - Bulrushes - Cattails - Maidencane (aka: K-grass)

Submergents> Hydrilla - Milfoil - Tapegrass - Pondweed (aka: peppergrass)

Hydrilla.  I think that I have fished that the most.

Overgrown and matted over Milfoil. Throw a frog and hang on! If it isn't laid over, throw a Rage Shad.

Green grass. Live grass is best.

My exact thoughts before clicking on this thread.

Grass? Fishing?   Why the answer is eel grass of course.  Just being punny.  ;D

dat dere coontail. It's so easy to find fish in.

Hydrilla Verticillata ;)

Milfoil is the predominant grass around here--but my favorite areas are where two different species of grass meet--generally between milfoil and eel grass.

Anything that will hold bass.

Eel grass

Its not grass but Coon tails and Lilly pads.  I do like Flooded grass/broom straw during spawning and we should have a decent amount with the summer drought we had.
