  1. I have been using sears platinum batteries with no problem. Exspensive yes. Not looking forward to replacing them down the road for a while I hope. I like the convince of not having to check the water level. I charge them with an onboard dual bank chargerwhen I come in from fishing. I have been buying sears batteries for over 40 years for my vechicles On a car forum that I read daily there have been a lot of negative coments on the optima batteries. Quality has gone down hill since thy where intorduced several years a go is the general opinion.
  2. I have never fished the Quabbin. But try posting this question in the smallmouth section. Crestlinner2008 posts in that section often and he fishes the Quabbin very often.
  3. Well done. Some nice fish there.
  4. It would be very help full if you could post some pics .
  5. I think some one has screwed on a plate over your outlet for the bilge pump. Probably the the bulkhead fitting was broken / removed from the transom exterior. The hose end may be just pushed into the transom opening inside. Purchase the appropriate transom fitting, Install with some poly ureathane caulking ( gutter seal) attach the hose. You can drill out the pop rivets with an 1/8 diameter drill bit to remove the inside sheet metal. Re attache with new pop rivets or sheet metal screws.
  6. My 89 Tracker has a fuse panel under the console mounted high up on the outboard side. I have to lay down on my side to see and reach it.
  7. First thing to do is find a trailer supply buisness in your area. You axel is not spcific to just a boat trailer. Should be common to camper, eguipment, utility trailers and so forth. The springs and wheel/tire sizes determine your weight capacity rating along with the axel. I would take the axel off for referance and measurement when you go looking. Northern Tool company catalog or on line has a good selection of axels and hubs. Do a search on line for trailer axel companies. You will learn a lot just by searching the internet.
  8. Just thought I would mention for you guys fishing in the Mass or NH area that may be looking for a boat. There is an alluminum Basstracker for sale down the street from me if you are interested.
  9. Good luck. Keep us posted on how you do.
  10. Well I was not planing on going any way .With the blizard and 28 plus inches of snow in Worchester the show must have been way down on attendance.
  11. Thank you Fishing Rino. I stand corected. I should have said fuel injectors evidently. I am senior with a 1988 merc 70 hp 3 carburator motor.and not up on the latest technology. Regardless the seafoam treatment will help I even use it in my tow vechile which is fuel injected.
  12. I would try to start the motor with fresh fuel after draining as much as the old fuel as possible. Treat the new gas with stabill ethanol and seafoam addative. If it starts and runs I would run a few tanks of gas through it with the addatives . I would use the stabill and seafoam evertime I had to fuel up as a general preventive maintance. Once i got it running I would run it hard for at least a couple tanks with the addative to clean out your craburators.
  13. Went to Pawtuckaway last sunday. Had a good day with about 10 or so small bass. Largest about 2 1/2 lbs.
  14. Since your motor is a 1977 model check your fuel lines / fuel pump diaphram /carb gaskets. They might be deteriated from the ethonal fuels we have now and need replacement.
  15. Thanks crestliner.
  16. What is it ?
  17. I guess no one has an opinion or info on the Freeeses pond access concerning wether I can can get in and out with my 17 foot tracker and 4 wheel drive suburban with out getting stuck ????
  18. grampa1114 Just a question on that lawerance area access ramp. Is that a safe area to leave your rig while off fishing ? I have been over there a couple times in years past just to look around and it is not the best well keep area at all as far as litter goes . Does that access get a lot of use ?
  19. Freeses pond ? I have a 17 ft tracker tourney tx and 4 wheel drive suburban. Wondering if any one has launched a similar rig. I looked at the access last weekend. I think I could get in ok, just a bit worried about the soft loose gravel pulling out. Are there any restrictions there on gas motor or horse power ? My rig is 70 hp.
  20. Previous post was ment as a general question. Not my intention to fish in your get together.
  21. The sign says trolling motors only, so is that inforced ? My tracker has a trolling motor and a gas motor. If i just use the electric am i going to be hasled because of the gas motor? any one have experiances like that ?
  22. You might be able to get the gazatteer in wallmart in the sporting goods department. I belive I have seen it there. Northern bass supply has them in stock in Brentwood, Nh if you get down that way also. Northern bass also has the Clarks fishing guide with boating acess points and some good info on bass ponds and lakes. I recomend getting one if you do have one allready.
