  1. In ideal conditions, give me a Zara Spook any day of the week!!
  2. welcome, welcome!!
  3. I like the suggestion of that reel. Shimano makes great stuff! I would look for a rod at least 6'-6" M to MH and try to get an IM7 graphite rod if you can.
  4. Mmm, it looks like I am going to have to go out and get a hog so, I can have a picture of it under my name like everyone else. Thanks everybody for the warm welcomes!
  5. Yeah, I recommend the DT's as well, I have not used one as deep as you want to go. But, the DT 4s, 6s, have all produced for me very well!!
  6. Hey everyone, I'm Woody, been a memeber of the forum for about a year, but only recently decided to start checking it out, also had problems with the password thing. But, I grew up in Richmond, VA and basically have fished all over the state. Say, from the Jackson River above Covington, to the New River (I graduated from VT), to now living and working in Newport News VA. I love freshwater fishing, from fly-rods on the James River, to ultra-lights in area ponds panfishing, to bigger bass in Lake Cohoon, Lake Prince in Suffolk. Great site, you guys provide a lot of information!! 8-)
  7. Sam, yes, I am going to take my reels to him, but I was just curious about reel oils and one day I would like to do it myself. I am an engineer, I have to tinker with things, see how they work.
  8. Thanks for all the ideas guys! My Curado is my baby so, I have not put Hot Sauce on it. But, I have put it in my 4 4 year old Symmetry and 2 yr. old Sedona, as well as the 3 year old BPS Pro-lite reel. So far, I have not had problems with Hot Sauce, but once that is emptied I probably will dig out my Shimano reel oil and go with that. Not sure who mentioned about the red tint the Hot Sauce has, but I am split on that. In a way, I like being able to see if there is oil on the gears. But also, I am sure that red dye does not help with lubrication, just speculating though. -COME ON FISHING SEASON-
  9. I was tinkering about in getting one this weekend at the Bass Expo in Richmond. Great rod, VERY light, and sensitive! The IM10, is really unbeatable! While I was looking at the Cumaras one Shimano rep told me, they have an "over the counter," guaruntee, while another said he was not sure. check into that before buying. But, IM10 graphite rod, that is almost cheating it is so sensitive! I ended up not getting one, for $$ reasons at the time. But, I will get one in the future!
  10. I have the Curado E5/Crucial set up now. Love it, the IM9 is really lights out when it comes to quality and sensitivity! Also, I can not say enough positive things about the Curado! I can cast a 6" weightless Fluke about 50', to moon shots with a rattle trap.
  11. I use that Hot sauce on my BPS Pro-lite baitcasting reel and Shimano spinning reels, Sedona 2500fi, and Symmetry 1500fi
  12. Hey everyone, I am new to this website and am in ah of the wealth of information on it, great site! My question is with up coming fishing season, I am starting to dust off the rods and reels. I have been oiling up my reels so far, but that lead to wonder which is a good oil for reel lubrication and what to aviod. I currently use Quantam's Hot Sauce, and Abu Garcia's reel oil. I have noticed in some of the manuals that come with my reels a oil and grease is mentioned. What is the difference and why are the two needed? Thanks for the advice,
  13. Yes, thanks for posting that link! I was wondering how to clean off my 200e5 this morning.
