Live in central MA ice has just melted. Fished forge pond in westford twice in last two weeks. 1st outing my son caught two small bass and I got a good size perch. 2nd outing got skunked water temps didn't get over 46. Tough day but still good to be out. All fish caught on jerk bates with slow pauses.

Has anyone gone through any of the inspections for the quabbin reservoir? http://www.mass.gov/dcr/watersupply/watershed/quabfish.htm Does any one know what they are charging for the wash?

Top water is one of my favorites. I have had a couple strikes in really shallow water on top water frogs where you could see the wake of the fish plowing through the water to inhale your frog. Nothing better than that!

Boots, I work in chelmsford right near the boat ramp off of 3A. I live about an hour west in ashburnham. I just figured with the ramp that close I could pull the boat to work and get a couple hours in every so often. I have never fished it either. How are the rocks out there?

Wondering if anyone has fished this stretch of the river, this early? I just checked out the ramp and everything is clear to launch. Has anyone had success this time of year or is it just a good chance to get out and run motor to check any problems pre-season. I was thinking in the afternoon on a nice day. Thanks

Quabbin is big but you can purchase a map at gate 31 for cheap money which comes in handy.

I got into bass fishing about three years ago and it has consumed me. Just trying to reach out to other anglers that have the same passion for the hunt as I do. I fish out of a 14' starcraft v hull with a 25hp merc on it. Boat is perfect for the small Massachusetts lakes. I actually bought my new house in a lake association just to have access close by. I couldn't be happier with my home lake, lots of fish and being an association there is catch and release policy so the fish continue to grow. I would like to start fishing tournaments in a couple years but right now I will settle for the best fishing partner a guy can have. My six year old son, who will start fishing early in the morning and will be mad when it is time to get off the water. Looking forward to being involved and adding any input I can offer
