  1. I currently use fluoro on my flippin rigs and spinnerbait rigs. I am wondering if you wuold not use fluoro on any of these baits? Rat-l-traps? Jerk baits? Texas rig worms? Carolina rigs? Leaders? Frogs? Wacky riggin?
  2. Any opinions on Navionics or Fishing Hot Spots?
  3. Why would I buy the South version for the same price as the 3000 that covers the whole country? I am new to the map card scene so this may be a stupid question. Also how much changes on established lakes like Fork and Rayburn from the 2004 to 2007 to the 2009 versions?
  4. I suppose if the front unit goes down then at least I can spin the console unit around to view from the front. Is that possible?
  5. Having a sonar/gps installed beside the console this week. Should I pay $50 more to put it on a ram mount? Opinions?
  6. My experience with wacky rigs has been as follows. I catch most bass pitching a weightless wacky rigged trick worm or senko. 90% of the fish I catch on it hit it on the initial pitch and fall. I catch better quality fish on the wacky rig than other techniques. I am wondering if this is the case with other fishermen. And do you have other ideas on wacky rigging you would like to share? Specifically other baits you wacky rig and ways you fish it deeper than I can since I almost exclusively pitch it weightless.
  7. Getting ready to install new unit and lowrance manual says to use their epoxy to place transducer in hull. Of course no epoxy came with the unit. Can't I use any kind of marine epoxy for this?
  8. I am just wandering about the epoxy. Lowrance says in their manual to use their epoxy on their transducers. Is this necessary? Won't any marine epoxy work?
  9. Thanks for the input everyone. I just ordered the 520c online from Reed's for $489 and free shipping. It includes everything. So now lets hope I can install it.
  10. Any preference? The only difference is the internal antenna right?
  11. I really need to stay under $500. Any thoughts? Buy a new one with less tech or a used one with more whistles?
  12. I think you are right on track. After pitching into the grass along the bank in 2 foot of water for a couple hours I finally backed off with the c-rig and caught that one fish off a secondary point about 15 yards off the bank. If I wouldn't have backed off my boat would have floated right over him. It does get frustrating pitching the grass line wondering how many baits have already been pitched in that exact spot already that day.
  13. What part of the lake do you fish at Fork? I was in Big Mustang this afternoon and the only fish I caught was a 3 lber backed off the bank in 4 ft of water on c-rig fluke. Came in just before dark. Guess I shoulda stayed out longer.
