so if braid will "eat" the guide at the tip of the rod... what type of replacement tip is recommended?

just picked up MH spinning rod....all others i have are Med. looking to get a specific set up for "power" fishing gonna put it on a new Quantum 2500 spinning reel. i know thats not a "power" reel but its what i got. i've never used braid before. i've always used mono...and recently Yo-Zuri ultra soft. i don't wanna go crazy price wise on the braid...so what low/medium priced brand and lb should i get? also, can i use an improved clinch knot with braid. i don't plan on using a leader. thanks..

black 3/8oz jitterbug. parallel to the bank...over structure. yes, open water too. early early morning... and late evening as long as you can stay out at night. i've fished it til dark and i can't see it....all you need to do is hear it....and then hear the explosion!! wait for a couple seconds, don't try to "set the hook" too soon. you'll be addicted.

Mustad weedless wacky hook. 1/0 and 3/0. less than $3 for 5 from Cabelas. i've had these stay sharp and the weed guard stay functional for over 15 fish.

i like it texas rigged weightless......twitch it....let it fall... amazing action.. also wacky rigged is real good... you can rig'em any way and they work

I usually squeeze a bit into a bag of Senkos and roll them around in it. Megastrike always! X2 or 3

this may be Mr. Obvious.....but.. when i spray it on no matter how hard i try to just spray my spool, it gets on my reel too.... i wipe off as much as possible.....but am sure i miss some..and am sure some gets to the interior of the reel.. will it harm my reel?? i'm guessing not??? :-/ thanks..

i can tell you from experience.... by then i have tried everything that i think will land a fish... what i do throw at that point.. is a wacky rigged 4" senko in pumpkin w/grn & black, a zoom finesse worm in green pumpkin magic or a zoom u-tail in watermelon seed.

i use Mustad weedless wacky in 1/0 with 5" senkos and have had no problem..so i don't think one more inch would make that much difference.....but goin to a 3/0 wouldn't hurt either i suppose... and Mustad makes the 3/0 too

The Fat Ika is sturdy, there is absolutely no reason to fish a knockoff. ??? i believe a lot of us use knock offs, for various reasons. price being the main one. and their quality is outstanding. plus, no tackle shop near me carries them. not Dick's, BPS, none. if by chance Brent (***) offered them i would imagine the price would be less than GYCB and i could pick up some other items from him as well.

"what a bass thinks"?? i gonna say it is the contrast in the dark water... i'm convinced that below 10 foot or so everything is black or close to it.....in most water conditions... so imho it is just the movement as for what that color that simulates?? :-/ i've had pretty good luck with bubblegum trick worms and flukes??

for the "not so pricey" range you are talking about...i have a couple ugly sticks...2 piece i really like...both under $50. i keep in truck... question.....they are spooled with mono....so from other reply...is mono affected by keeping in trunk?? heat?
