  2. Rod/Reel purchase advice needed

    Hey all, I am looking to purchase a new rod and reel, but i have no clue what to buy. My only requirement is that i want a nice quality, versatile combo so i dont have to dish out a lot of cash. I have only used spinner reels all my life, so it might make more sense to stay with one of those. But if Baitcasters are more versatile i can use my old spinner while learning with a new BC. My limit for the combo is around $180. Thanks in advance for the help. This site has taught me a lot already and I just found it today :-)
