  1. No major hooking of myself yet, knock on wood.
  2. Any lake, resevior, river system where I have a shot at catching a 12lb+ Large mouth. There maybe some somewhere in Ohio, but I know it's like finding a needle in a haystack a very big haystack at that. ;D
  3. Nice Catch!!!! It's been awhile since I've hooked into one.
  4. Keep it simple, spinner bait, crankbait, soft plastics, topwater frog. Each bait has it's own bite and characteristcs. These are IMO the foundation for fishing artificail lures for bass. There are many different versions of each bait on the market, but for example once your learn how to fish with one soft plastic bait, then usually the same principles will apply to the others. Then you can start learning different rigs, Texas rig, Carolina rigs, drop shot rigs. The more techniques you can learn with a single bait, the better off you will be. Once you've gotten one bait under your belt, move on to the next.
  5. It's not whether or not I see the strike, but rather when I feel the fish. It seem like it took me forever to learn the proper time when to set the hook using frogs.
  6. Awesome fish!!!!!!!!
  7. The weather is getting alot colder during the early morning hours(5-7) usaully the bite doesn't start getting hot untill about 9-11:30. Then it dies out again. Since I'm not a quitter, I'll take a break and return around 5:30 and stay till the sun goes down.
  8. Welcome aboard! There are a lot of bass sites but there is only one Bassresource.
  9. Welcome aboard, but don't limit yourself to those from your area cause there is a TON of knowledge that is passed on this site that can be applied anywhere at anytime.
  10. I have 2 jigs and a 6 inch megabait swimming around in our local fishing hole and my main goal is TO GET THEM ALL BACK
  11. I have to hit the water atleast 20hr a week. I will either go by myself or take my 9yr old son with me. He is in pee wee league football now, so if I can't make it out during the week then Sat & Sun are a must. I went through the same situation with my family and fishing and the best advice I could give to you is Keep On Fishing, cause there are alot worse things you can find yourself in with free time trust me.
  12. The true definition of "Go Big or Go Home" Awesome fish
  13. Nice Catch, getting a nice bass ia always such a rush. Congrats once again.
  14. Ohio, Kentucky, Florida but more will come.
  15. KVD followed by Skeet at the Present Time(just to the answer the question) but of all time, until someone equals or out performs what Roland Martin did than you've gotta give it to him. :
  16. I fish alot of ponds with the same basic look, depth. I with usually use shallow jerkbaits and Ikas. 3-6ft of water IMO an Ikas is one of the best baits to use. Try casting in any area that has shade and definetly hit all point and any flats.
  17. I'll give it a few more cranks before I start my jerk/pause just to see if it is me or the bait. All in all great experience I had no friends and my son wasn't with me and I caught five all about that size. I have never owned or used a bait this large before, but I will definetly be adding some more of these jerkbaits to my recipe. Thank you all for the heads up on what these are supposed to be doing.
  18. Jig, I seem to get bigger fish on my jigs vs. the senko.
  19. Jerk, jerk, pause, jerk pause, jerk WHAM !!!! Dwarfed my 5inch Ghost Minnow, but this bait rises to the surface. I thought that a suspending bait would stay down at the depth that you crank it to or am I wrong ?
  20. Thanks for the info, I'm going to try to hit the water today and give her a shot. I've just heard so much about these baits and I felt as if I was missing out. I'll let yall know how it goes.
  21. Bought my first jerkbait today Lucky Craft 128sp Ghost Minnow. I just had some general questions on what this bait does or suppose to do. Once I get the bait down to the depth that I want and I pause the bait does these baits stay at that depth or will it float back to the surface? like I said I've never owned any and just wanted a heads up before I hit the water. Any info will definetly be appreciated.
  22. I have no problem with telling anyone where I fish, but to tell them the "exact " where, when & how? Never, I figured out the right recipe so can they. Especially, if I know that they will keep the Hogs
  23. X2 Thank God for those snowy winters that I hate so much. ;D
  24. X2 and I always check the windy shore line. Also, try a Rage Tail Shad, Toad, or a frog and put the buzz bait down. These baits go 10X the places you can toss a buzz bait.
