  1. bassboy1, FWIW, I am also a fan of the Avid's and will be fishing a shakey head for the first time this year. From what I have learned from this site and other sources is that you are allready very close to what seems to be the optimal set up. I have not used it yet, but have choosen the folowing set-up: Avid 6'9" ML XF with Daiwa Tierra 2000, YZ Hybrid Ultra Soft 6 or 8 lbs. in green + KVD L&L conditioner. Note: I also will have the Avid 6'8" M XF with a Tierra 2500 which I will switch too if I don't like the ML for whatever reason. Also: I was timid to ever go under 10lb line for anything, but allways wanted too for finnese, but if you look at the YZ Hybrid Ultra Soft breakage ratings their way higher than listed # strength; about 75% higher in some cases. Hope this helps in some way.
  2. Why green over clear? I was wondering this to. I've used Trilene XL on spinning and XT on baitcasters for almost 21 years. I am going to try YZ hybrid with KVD L&L this year for kicks. If the floro coating makes it invisable why do the different colors matter? If it does matter then at what severity of staining do you switch from clear to green. Or; maybee better put; if you fished only one lake which starts out fairly clear and gradually stains to green throughtout the season, which one color option will benifit you most for the whole year?
  3. Howdy, Trying to figure out what the differences are between the two besides the Advantage being about $25 more with one less bearing. I need two for the following rods so $150 a piece is at about my price limit. Both will probably be 2500 size or maybe a 1500 on the 6'9". Although I must admit the SOL is sweeeeet, its out of the budget. Any sugesttions or experiences with either would be appreciated. 1. Avid 6'8" M x-fast Tubes, Senkos. weighted rubber worms 2. Avid 6'9" ML x-fast Drop shot, shaky head, small spinners Thanks, Mike
