Presque Isle Bay in July?
I am looking to take the wife to Presque Isle Bay at the end of July for a couple days. I'm looking for any help on some largemouth or spots to try. Everything is catch and release so nothing comes home it all stays. Just looking for general areas and baits of choice so I can show her a couple of relaxing days. The water is tough around here and figured this would be the closest place where there are actually fish to be caught. She loves to catch pike and ideas on the also would be appriciated. Thanks Matt

Ohio River Help..............
I am not much of a contributer to the board but i do lurk alot. But I am in need of alittle help. I fish the ohio river in the Hanibal and Willow Island pools and for the life of me I can't figure the fish out at all. I try the rocks, rocks with grass, rocks with wood, rocks with wood and grass. I catch a few dinks but the tourneys latley have been taking 14-15-16 pounds to win. There aren't to many different thing to do on the river but can someone give me a direction to go in. Obviously what I'm doing is not working. Water temp is now around 70 degrees and its alittle stained. I don't expect specific places or lures, just a simple "you might wanna look at...." or "ya might wanna look at throwing this" would be great. The first tourney we fished dad and I had 2 keeps for 2 and change. Took 12 to win, the second tourney we blanked and it took 16 and change to win. I've tried topwater, worms, spinnerbaits, jigs, crankbaits, and am at a loss for what else to do. Any help would be appriciated guys. If you do not wanna post anything here or would just rather e-mail that is fine. I can be reached at mboggs911@hotmail.com. Thanks Matt

Fishing while lockin through the dam??
I fished a tourney out of new martinsville last weekend and locked thru to the proctor pool and it took probably 40 minutes to lock thru up and less back thru. In this tourney it was illegal to fish within the long walls of the dam, on the downriver and upriver side. I've locked thru several times and have never seen anyone even think about fishing inside the locks. Most of the pre-tourney meetings state the no fishing inside the long walls. Which pool or marina are you launching from? Club Tourney? Open Buddy Tourney?

What to keep and What not to keep.
For the people that only fish for five bites a day, we take all we can get. Here 5 fish may only go 5 pounds. And that may just get you in the money. It's tough here, what we get is what we get

What to keep and What not to keep.
If the fish measures to be a keeper it goes in the box. I would in no way throw a keeper fish back unless it's culled out of the box. Like said above there is nothing certain in fishing. Say 2nd place weighs in 4 fish 10.8oz, you weigh in 3 fish 10.4 oz, but you threw back a small just keeper that would have put you in 2nd, because you thought you would have caught a limit. Dude if it measures throw it in the box till it can be culled.

I will be on the river Sunday for a tournament out of Belpre, OH. I know I will have a Spinnerbait, jig and crawl, and a Bandit 100 series tied on. Just hope there isn't too much trash floating in the river. That always scares me when running to spots. Are you tourney fishing or fun fishing? With the weather we are supposed to have the next four or five days I'm guessing the water will push 60 by Sunday.
