Anyone have any luck in SOUTHERN NH yet?
Hey Mattj, Thanks for the reply. I'll go by and check it out at some point soon. Welcome to the forum, and welcome to NH. I'm over in Peterborough, pretty close to you. If you ever want to get out for the day let me know. On that note, I think I'm heading out tomorrow if anyone is looking for a ride, i've got an open backseat on the boat I think. Peace

Anyone have any luck in SOUTHERN NH yet?
I went out for about 3-4 hours today and yesterday. IDK what the deal is, but there seemed to be 0 fish activity at both places we went. Absolutley no bites. I did catch a perch today that was full of eggs. Other than that, I haven't been able to get anything. So far this year I've managed 1 bass. I'm pretty frustrated because I've been fishing all depths, looking for warmest water, fishing structure and cover, using many different techniques and presentations, and varying retrieves. Nothing is working. I'm absolutley dumbfounded. I feel like I'm fishing lakes where all the fish either A. Packed up and left, or B. All died.

Anyone have any luck in SOUTHERN NH yet?
Oh yeah, last sunday I caught my first bass of the season. It took me 6 trips, but I finally pulled one in. I have not been having good luck at all this spring. Here's a pic:

Anyone have any predictions on what the bass will be doing after this cold front passes?

Anyone have any luck in SOUTHERN NH yet?
Hey guys, I went out yesterday and didn't have much luck as far as bass go. I caught 2 crappies and 7 pickerel. My dad caught 1 lmb that was about 2lbs and 5 pickerel. One thing we did notice is that water where we were catching fish was about 55-57 degrees. And it was also a windblown shore. There wasn't much wind, but it was consistently blowing on that shoreline. The rest of the lake was about 48-53 degrees. So my advice, which is something you guys probably already do, is to fish windblown shores, especially if it has a constant wind, because I'm betting the water will be warmer there.

Do you guys think that any bass that were shallow are retreating back to the deeper water as this cold front and rain moves through?

Here's another NH vid. This one was released like 10 days before Granite State of Mind. It's not as good, but it still kinda funny: Also, me and my dad got out on saturday for like 2 hours, and all I got was one bite, and my dad caught 2 LM that were about 2lbs a piece. I still have yet to catch one in three outings.

Anyone have any luck in SOUTHERN NH yet?
I've been out twice this year and haven't had one bite. Both times there was still ice on the water, and the water temp was between 36-40 degrees. There shouldn't be anymore ice there so hopefully I can get out sometime during these upcoming warm days.

A Shoutout for NH Fishermen!!!
The bass should be shallow at this time of the year right? and they may retreat deeper when cold fronts move through?

A Shoutout for NH Fishermen!!!
Ha! I'd be so happy if I could catch 10 bass. You say they weren't hitting soft plastics, do you have any idea why that may be? and what kind of reaction baits were you using?

A Shoutout for NH Fishermen!!!
Those are all awesome places to fish (I think the Halfmoon Pond you are talking about is in Hancock?). Did you try fishing offshore structure once the summer got really hot? I was having a lot of luck fishing deeper around depth changes with lizards on jig heads and senkos wacky style on a jig head. Yea I guess it's Hancock. It's like right on the border of Peterborough and Hancock near the BU sargeant camp.

I don't normally tagret SMB. But yea I'm pretty close to Greenfield. The lakes and ponds that I have been to this year are: Powder Mill Pond (Hancock-Bennington), Gregg Lake (Antrim), Edward Macdowell Reservoir (Peterborough), Pleasant Pond (Francestown), Halfmoon Pond (Peterborough), Pool Pond (Rindge), Mountain Brook Reservoir (Jaffrey).

A Shoutout for NH Fishermen!!!
Hey guys gotta question for all of you. I noticed that a lot of you guys had a really good season of fishing. I started off in the spring and did well but then about midsummer i started doing horribly. I mainly fish in the Bennington, Peterborough, and Jaffrey areas. Do you guys think the the lakes in these areas are just not that productive for bass?? and where do you guys have most of your luck. I'm just trying to figure things out. I mean I was trying all different techniques and strategies all year and wasn't really getting any results.

A Shoutout for NH Fishermen!!!
Hey guys. I haven't been on in awhile, but Im all caught up on everything I've missed. Congrats on all the nice bass you guys have been pullin in. I've only had a chance to get a couple times in the past month and have not faired well. I wanna try and get a some more days in before it starts to get really cold. What strategies are you guys trying for the fall?

Hey guys got a question. What is the primary baitfish in NH. Down south they have shad what do we have if any? I've heard some people say golden shiners. If so, are they in most lakes and ponds?

Search Bait Strategy- Am I Missing Something?
Lately I've been finding that search baits work well at the lake I fish. Its a weedy, flat, shallow impoundment. There is little structure and the bass can be almost anywhere in this place. So I've been throwing shallow running cranks and have been doing well covering lots of water. Once I locate an area where there seems to be bass, then I'll throw some finesse baits to see if I can get more. If there was more structure and the lake wasn't so shallow, I think finesse baits would be all I would throw because then I could target more isolated areas and work them thoroughly instead of chunking and winding. So I think it depends on the lake.

Guess the weight
You're right it is my pb of 5lb 14oz. One thing to note is that I'm holding my bass further away from my body than the guy in the original post and his still looks pretty big. Here's another pic of my bass. To me it looks bigger when I hold it like this:

Went out today for about 3 hours. Only managed 2 small bass under a pound, a lmb and a smb. Caught 3 pickerel and 1 creek chub. Went to powdermill again also. I think I'm struggling there because of the murky water. All the rain has really seemed to mess that place up.

Are you talking about mine or the original post?

HUGE BASS check it out
yea that fish is rediculous. Im not a big fan of that 2 ounce rule. Doesn't really make sense.

Guess the weight
Compare that picture to one of a bass I caught this year. Its a similar picture. How big do you think mine looks? I actually did weigh this fish with a scale. Do you think it looks bigger or smaller than the pic in the original post?
