Amistad has Smallies too. Many Texas lakes have them, Ive caught them at Lake LBJ and Lake Marble Falls also.

Its a record....another thing would be lamprey's attached. I know in BASS tourneys if a lamprey is attached to a fish and stays attached then the weight counts, would it count in a record situation?

that was my immediate thought. Also, do they even have big smallies in Texas? Many lakes in Texas have good populations of Smallmouth. Lake record at Belton is 6.43!!!

I generally bag fish that this happens to. If they are going to die anyway then why not enjoy their tastiness.

On a fishing show(I think pro team journal) one of the guys(Mark Menedez, I think) said the male bass will have more of a "V" shape lower jaw and the female is more rounded. I don't know it to be a fact or myth but thats what Ive heard.

Ive read a few things lately on baits and sprays with pheromones, like trigger X and Mustad Activate. Anyone have an opinion on these? I usually think of scent as a mask from human scent, but plastic smell can't be as good as a scented bait.....err maybe.

Berkley powerworms float, I use them alot bed fishing on a shakyhead and they will float up nicely.

I was in the process of adding red hooks to several crankbaits and a couple of swimbaits. Then I was wondering if red fingernail polish w/ glitter would work on the bait body itself or is there something similar I could use to add a little blood on the baits?

Mustad makes a good weedguard hook with a 1/32 or 1/16 wieght on them. I buy them at BPS or Academy. I've seen them in 1/0 up to 4/0. I use them with the wave tiki sticks, I like the feel better than the bamboo sticks. Hopper
