  1. OK - so where is the hot spot of the moment for LMB? I used to fish Lake Cohoon all the time when I lived there and crushed it. I'm coming home this wknd to take my dad out for father's day and I'm trying to make sure we have a good trip.... Ideas??
  2. Mostly ponds out in Fairfax or Chantilly area.... occasionally I'll fish the Suffolk lakes in southern, va or lake frederick
  3. Jcrazy4bass, By the way... finally decided to try out the rage tail.... 7' Anaconda, red shad.. results to be posted soon!!
  4. haha... yeah there's so many of them I almost have a hard time figuring out which ones to fish. JCrazy4Bass, that info you gave me was solid! I tried out a few of those spots this past week with pretty good results. We'll have to hit those or others up sometime. I fished a couple ponds in Herndon off Centreville rd last night... caught a dink and 3 LMB, biggest was a tad over 2lb. Not bad for an hour or so of fishin'... I'm determined to catch a lunker this year from one of these honey holes.
  5. OK, so I know these lakes are on opposite sides of the water but... Anybody have any success this year on either? I'm from Williamsburg but currently live in DC, coming into town for father's day and want to take the old man out. He never fishes and I'm trying to get him into it so I need it to be a successful trip... I caught my PB LMB (6lb 8oz) last September in Cohoon on a black/blue jig and pig, but that's the last time I fished it. As far as Big Bethel res, I've never actually fished it but every now and again I'll see a report or post of how it's a pretty good sleeper spot. Any thoughts, guys? Thanks
  6. lol.... let me clarify. By "sneak out" I just mean I'll be very careful about the fact I'm fishing near an office park around dark. I have friends that work in some of the surrounding buildings that can get me permission from the security there. Come on guys, I'm not THAT much of a dumba**.
  7. OK, So I've found a pond that I know has some decent fishing... it's at the end of Brookfield corp Dr. behind some sort of FFX County building... looks like it might be some sort of hike through the woods to get to it, but it may be worth it.. if anyone is interested in possibly hitting this up on Sat afternoon/evening PM Me
  8. nice! I've been using the same hook/colour combo in the 5' with a 3/0 hook. Biggest I've caught on it has been about 3.5lbs... maybe I Need to step up to the bigger size...
  9. Nice fish! Just curious, what colour senkos have you been having success with? Lately I've been having pretty good luck with the Watermellon/Black&Red 6' Yamasenko... been trying the Black/blue flake but not a ton of luck. You'll have to let me know if you're ever out in the Reston area, I've found a few decent spots and am always up for a fishin partner.
  10. AndreDo124, any advice on where to park or areas you guys fished? I may just walk the shore all on that va side of the bridge...esp up under the bridge there.
  11. Yeah I've heard the Potomac can be hit or miss...I've heard the shore over by Jefferson Davis Highway can be productive. Fishing from the shore sucks.. wouldn't mind going out in waders but I'd hate to glow in the dark later from all that crap in the water.
  12. So I live in Arlington and I'm trying to find a few places close to home to do some decent after work fishing. I realize the odds of finding honey holes in this area is slim but....Anyone have any suggestions?
  13. So went out to Mercer on Saturday and fished from 6:00-8:30... caught 2 LMB that were 2 and 2.5 lbs respectively and had a 3-4lb (guesstimate) on but it spit the hook about 5 feet from shore. I had something out there that kept tearing the hell out of my worms and frayed my spiderwire. Anyone know the Pike/Pickerel status for Mercer? I'll keep everyone updated over the next few weeks... I'm determined to catch one of the lunkers I keep hearing about here (or at Huntsman) We'll see how successful I can be.... from the shore! Any advice/ideas are welcome.
