  1. Hey everybody, just wanted to shout a big hello to everyone. I'm from Fall River, MA . It's 17 miles east of Providence, RI. I grew up fishing with live bait and simple tackle most of my life. I took a break for a couple of years. I rediscovered my passion for the hobby getting out there with a good buddy last week. I'm wanting to upgrade all my rods and reels and learn how to use and master artificial lures like the pros. I have lots of time this summer and fall to dive right in. I stumbled across this forum the other day and have spent hours going through it. It's Awesome!!!! I've already chatted with a few real nice folks on here. Any tips and advice is greatly appreciated!
  2. I hope it gets better Tom, I just fished a new place today Upper Warren Resevoir (AKA: Bad Luck Pond) It's at the end of New St. in Rehoboth. The layout is simply Gorgeous. It's kinda like Copicut only with way more easy accessible shoreline. It's a pretty shallow Res. The locals tell me great for top water and frog baits. If your ever looking for company out there PM me. I never fished Devol, I heard great things about it. I hope it was just a fluke, no pun intended...
  3. Doesn't sound very otter-like to me. Are these muskrats? I initially thought muskrats, until I saw a couple of otter eating them while floating on the surface. If it's muskrats, they are the worlds largest. Could be a combination of the two, but I haven't seen a muskrat since March. That doesn't mean they aren't around. But I've seen plenty of otters. Is that forge pond? I know sawdy on 177 too hasn't looked like it has in the past years
  4. Where is there the most open shoreline. Did I completely miss it?
  5. So I will go with a 6ft. That should be fine. So what are we looking at for good choices in that price range now. I'd say 175-200 for the combo
  6. so i guess i should look at an ultra light and I'd be willing to go 6ft
  7. The reason i am looking for a shorther rod id I'm fishing off the shorline and in the woods. I dont have a boat and I don't always have enough clearance for anything longer.
  8. please let me know if i did something to violate TOS I'm brand new and would hate to upset anyone
  9. Spinning rod in 5'6" ...... you going UL ? Spinning outfit in the 125 dollars Without thinking it too much: Shimano Sahara + Shimano Clarus rod ( IMHO the best rod you can purchase with 70 dollars ). in between light and ultralight I'm willing to spend up to 200 on the combo
  10. Anyone actualy have luck with these? I was watching the videos and they look pretty good. Seem very expensive!! Is this just another buyer beware???
  11. Anyone doing well here? Any good shoreline with easy access on the copicut rd side. I know there are some paths on quonopog dirt road. I threw a bunch of top water stuff out there and a rapala j-5 jointed minnow black/gold. No luck! Also turner pond? any luck
  12. I currently use a shimano spirex 2000 rear drag with the lever to fighting drag. I'm looking to replace it and upgrade as well. I fish with shiners from shore and light to light/medium tackle.. I'm also looking for a nice matched rod about 5ft or 5'6" 1 piece rod. I havent been in the market for years so i'm not too familiar with the stuff thats out there. I'd like to be in the 100-125 dollar range on the reel and 50-75 for the rod can any of you recommend some stuff? I'm in South eastern Massachusetts if that helps.
  13. Rebel Bumble Bug I live in new England, I'm wonderin who has used this and which colors do you like the best.
