  1. East Texas today is to reach 100+ and the water temp the other night was 94' in a small lake with very little structure and less cover. What type of pattern should one fish on such a lake. There are loads of bait fish and bluegills in the lake. Lay it on me Ole'timers.
  2. Guys. Thanks for the advise on the wind. I went out Monday night and the wind was around 10 mph, not bad but it was Hot!! The water temp was 94' and the fish was not where they were a week ago. Now they have moved out in deeper water and the easy pick'ins are no longer. I was kill'in them on Jitterbug up shallow. What pattern should i be fishing now?
  3. I thank everyone for their advise. I am 62 years old and fish alone, that in itself could be bad on a windy lake at night, Thanks again. Waiting on a clear windless night, too hot during the day, Thanks for the input.

  5. Busy, know what you are talking about now, I call them hybrids, good name Wiper.
  6. I have put off night fishing due to winds 10-20 miles an hour, gust up to 25. I fish on a small lake about 2500 acres and fish in a G3, 17.5 mod V hull w/50 hp. I am wondering in East Texas will I be waiting until winter to be able to fish a calm night or should I just go? I am new to Texas and this wind seems to be constantly over 10-15 mph. Please some Texan give me some advise.
  7. The top seat is in the cork at the top and screws down to keep the reel tight. The cork is rotten and has come a part. I now have it taped tight but can not get it tight enough.
  8. I have my upper reel seat broken, how do I replace it? The rod is a good one, just need to be able to tighten reel up. Sonny
  9. Hey Guys, Thanks for the welcome, Sonny
  10. My name is Sonny. I have been fishing for bass since 1989. I started fishing in Florida and was hooked from the first day and the addiction has gotten worse with each year. With the temperature here in East Texas as hot as it is, I now fish at night. Night fishing is a blast and catching loads for big bass. I am a Combat Veteran of Viet Nam and I am 62 years young. Looking forward to getting good info and making new friend. 8-)
