Jigs...Tap Tap?
Gotta agree. I cant count how man times Ive set on a branch thinking it was a fish because of its ticks and tugs. It even fights when reeling in. Just set it when you are in doubt. I just started jig fishing as well and it really is about line watching most of the time. I recently switched my setup to run Hi-Vis Yellow braid with a FC leader to aide in line watching.

kanji soft bodied frog .....
I have that frog and it cast beautifully and walks very easily. I have yet to catch a fish on it though because I got it at the end of the season and still had my Bassirisky tied on. I have no complaints about that frog and I own just about all the hollow bodies besides the Mad Maxx which were horrible on their first run.

Soft Plastic Frogs?
Awesome! I too use the Ribbits and have tried the various "double" frog hooks and they simply do not work. I hope these are easy to rig and use.

What spinnerbait do you use?
Stanley Wedge series, War Eagle, and Booyah.

Who makes this lure?
Awesome action for sure!

Stocking Up On Frog Baits! Your Input?
What is the deal with Bobby's Perfect frog? Ive read so much about it and went to buy one to try out but that thing does not cast far at all. As a matter of fact, it doesnt cast anywhere. I can cast plastic frogs way farther than that thing. I personally use the Spro's and love them. Im also starting to like the Deps Bassirisky's after they went hardbelly. I also have the Kanji frog that is pretty good. The Sumo frog is pretty much a Bobby's frog.

Coming out west! A little help. SF area
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I ended up going to Clifton Court and managed 2 smallish stripers and 1 largemouth. Nothing of great size but better than nothing.

Mark, I might just have to make a stop there at Lake Chabot. Thanks! More recommendations are welcome. Vince

Coming out west! A little help. SF area
Badog, Thanks for the reply. I did look into the Delta but didnt feel that the price was worth it for the average bass. Doing it for the stripers might be a different story though as we dont have any here in Ohio. Yhanks again. Vince

Coming out west! A little help. SF area
Hello, Im going to be flying in on the 17th and staying til the 22nd for a wedding and want to bass fish out there REALLY REALLY bad. I will be bringing two reels but no rod so I dont know how Im going to tackle that just yet. I will be flying into SFO and Hi's is just up the street so Im sure thats going to be my first stop for rod shopping and some local help. Im looking to throw plastics and lipless cranks. I'll probably buy a 7ft MH rod. What I want to know is, are there any spots around San Francisco that you fellas would recommend? I will be land locked as I know no one out there so I hope that can be taken into consideration. This is like a once in a lifetime deal for me almost as I am a slave to my job. Any help or input is appreciated. Oh, I wont limit myself to just bass fishing. I just want to fish but dont really want to stand on a pier but will if I have to. TIA, Vince

Dust collecters
Thats the honest truth right there. ;D

Sorry Dean Rojas
Ive NEVER had a problem with my Spro. I have no idea how anyone can stand using a snagproof frog.

punching mats???
Winter in which region? ie. Florida winter is obviously quite different than a more northern area winter. A 6" jig trailer is awfully big for coldweather winter regions. I use it to punch through the ice up here in Ohio winters.
