MG Safari prop
Well its definitely available as I picked it up and got it installed right after I got home...of course I probably won't be able to try it out before the weekend but I'm ready. It sounded like they got 'em in yesterday and it cost me 33 bucks.

MG Safari prop
I just talked with D&R Sports in Kalamazoo and they tell me they just got a bunch of them in...so, when I get out of work here in another half hour I know where I'll be heading. Looks like they are finally hitting the shelves though for anyone who is interested.

Seat Pedestal Question
Yep, that's exactly what I've got and I didn't think about putting torque on the swivel...good point. I guess I'll have to swap 'em around, thanks for the input!

fishing reports
I look at them occasionally but they don't have any bearing on if I go out or not.

Seat Pedestal Question
I have a 12' jon that I put some very cheap seats in...attached directly to the swivel mounts. For Fathers Day I received a pair of 9" pedestals which I haven't tested yet but they are installed. Afterwards (of course) I was wondering, does it matter that I installed the pedestal between the seat and the swivel or should I have bolted the pedestal directly to the boat seat and put the swivel on top? I'm no engineer so I really don't see where it would make a difference but I don't really wanna wind up in the drink suddenly either.

How many lures do you take on your boat?
I take 'em all with me...but my "all" still fits into one tackle box.

Would you rather
I'd happily set the hook into either one of them though the 13 pounder would be a new state record for Michigan....so I'd have to pick that one.

jon boat
I've got a 12' jon that holds myself, wife or daughter, trolling motor, battery and all the normal tackle...and holds it all quite well even while battling the wake of jet ski's and speedboats. I had a 10' jon (very briefly) that I took out once, myself and wife, two poles, two PFD's and oars...and felt like a human bobber for every little set of waves that passed under us. Not sure if the bottom width has a lot to do with it or not but the 12' is 36" and the 10' was only 32".

MG Safari prop
I wish it was out as the stock prop that came on my VariMax is horrible in the weeds. I bought the motor in late May and was told that the prop was coming out this month. That's not very encouraging to hear there is no release date as of yet...

Spray foam to take up gaps in keel......feasible??
Not sure if it would work in your case but on mine I put the boat up on saw horses and put a few inches of water in the boat. Then when/if you see water dripping onto the floor I reach under with a Sharpie and circle the rivets or wherever its leak is. Drain the boat, flip it over and I've found nothing that works better than JB Weld. Cost less than $5 and there is enough in one package to do a lot of rivets. I once tried a product called Quicksteel to actually lay down in the keel strip and would never buy it again. It was messy, did not adhere well to the aluminum and never actually set up like "steel". It was actually quite brittle.
