I have read the current thread on coatings and the preference for epoxies. Has anyone tried Plasti-Dip, thinned with Toluene or Xylol? I only ask as I have already bought a can, but have not purchased the thinner. I am looking for a tough clear coat for powder-coated (and baked) jig heads. Thanks.

I am looking for something to use as a coating on jig heads. No matter how well I apply the powder finish or how long I bake it, the rock homes of our smallmouths scrape the finish off in a few casts. I have read on other forums about Plasti-Dip, thinned with Toluene or Xylol. My concern is with the potential odor on the lure from any leaching solvent. I would appreciate any input.

I have read several threads on rod comparisons...particular to frogs, jigs, and heavy cover...staying in the mid-price range ($100-200) I found positive comments about Powell, Kistler, St. Croix, and Shimano. Currently, an online retailer is selling Quantum PT Signature rods for $80. This would be a savings of 20 to 60% (which would make my CFO, if not happier, at least less resistant). I am looking for opinions on the Quantum rods. Thanks.

I purchased a 1996 Astro 475DC...great shape, little use...but, with a Force 120 and a 12 gallon fuel tank, range is limited. Is there a larger capacity fuel tank for this boat? Thanks.
