  1. Anyone in the Lynchburg, VA area interested in getting in a club, check out Cast Away Anglers. We are always looking for new members and have an open tournamnet coming up on May 21st at Smith Mountain Lake. For more info, go to www.castawayanglers.webs.com
  2. Also you need to find out what types of forage fish live in the lake. This can be obtained from the DNR or by talking to other fisherman or local bait shops. I would spend some time on that BOW getting to know the bluegill, shad and other forage fish. This is what I meant, sorry...should have worded it differently. What do you suggest if you only have one day on the lake and no time to talk to other fishermen or bait shops? BTW, thanks for the answer.....
  3. I hear this all the time and it makes perfect sense, but how do you know what they're eating?
  4. It was a tough day on Buggs, but anyday on the water is a good one. Caught a few, total was about 5lbs. Biggest one was caught on a spinner, the rest on worms. Thanks everyone for their tips and advice!!
  5. Awesome!! Thanks guys. I'll let you know how I do....
  6. Headed to Buggs Island this Sunday for the first time. Anyone have any pointers? Where to fish, what to use? Thanks!!
  7. I want to say its the Roanoke arm? Its pretty far up the river towards Roanoke. If we get a chance to head to the main lake, I'll be sure to check out that spot. Thanks for that website, its real helpful. I saw on there that the shop and website are up for sale??? Hope he doesn't sell it too soon...LOL. Thanks everyone for their advice. Curiousangler, hope to see you there. Like I said, let me know if you enter so we can meet up. Have a fun and safe holiday weekend everyone!!
  8. Curiousangler, yes we're getting in that tourney. Looks pretty cool and laid back. Let me know if you're gonna make it!! Sam, thanks for the info, I'll be sure to check the maps out.
  9. I'm in a tournament at Smith Mountain Lake on July 18th. We launch from Hardy,VA which from I hear is up the river, away from the main lake. Does anyone have any tips? What to throw, where to throw? Ive never fished there, so I'm going to go through the motions, buzzbait, worm..... Any tips would be appreciated!!!Thanks!!!
