Everyone has there own personal likes and dislikes on manufacturers and you didn't offer a price range but I would suggest a 7' MH fast action rod and a good baitcaster of your choice. Post your question in the rods, reels and line forum and you'll get all kinds of opinions. Give a price range to help narrow things down.

    I use a St Croix Legend Tournament Bass rod, 6'8'' MXF, an Abu Premier reel spooled with 10# co-poly line. It's the ideal set up for me.
