Hope I'm posting this in the proper place. Curious what digital scale are you all using for weighing bails and various small items. Would like to purchase an accurate scale that won't break the bank. Thanks for your replies. Ron
  2. For a shaky head rod I use the NRX+ 852C rod. It's a great rod for 1/8 - 3/16 oz bullet weights and 6", 7" worms or finesse plastics like menace grubs, small craw like baits.
  3. I prefer the 873 with a 1/4 oz bullet weight. The rod is actually more powerful than most MH rods, I would say it's a MH+ and will handle your medium cover exceptionally well. It's a great jig rod also. Both great rods!
  4. back to back uni's for me, easy to tie and holds
  5. How was it casting the ned rig? I’ve heard mixed opinions on how it does casting the lower end of the rod rating. Reel had 20# 832 braid on it, I added a 8# Invix leader and it casted a 1/8 oz blockhead and a fuzzy TRD just fine. I'll probably go to 10# j-braid so it will cast even better, don't see any problem on the lighter baits. I don't use spinning equipment much but this will always be on my boat this year. I think this will make a good walleye rod for certain applications too. I will try some wacky rigs next time out. Let me know how you find this rod to be when you get yours. Thx Ron
  6. Did you get the rod yet? I decided I need one and put through an order today so will try to post feedback when I get it and more ideally when I get it out on the water I did receive the rod and put a Daiwa Certate, ( old version), on it. Did take it out one time but didn't get much time on it. Casted a ned rig around a little but was using a small swimbait mostly. Water was 45-47 so still cold here. Will give a review when I get some time on it.
  7. Ordered this rod to use for light finesse applications, should arrive in a couple of days. I don't fish spinning rods much but am curious as to what opinions are of folks currently using this rod. I also saw Brians review on this rod and hope I'm as impressed as he is in this rod. Looking forward to responses. Ron
  8. no one has fished these rods?
  9. I currently have the Shimano Expride B 6'10'' medium rod for jerkbaits. I'm looking at the G-Loomis GLX 6'10'' medium jerkbait rod and Megabass options for jerkbaits. I like the shorter handles over the Shimano but am curious as to the powers of other options. Anyone have experience with these rods and can compare the power and differences to the Expride. Thanks in advance for your input. Ron
  10. Ashboom, for your info Off Gammas webpage stated Lb test Diameter Actual break strength 12 .013 20 10 .012 17.5 8 .011 15 6 .010 13 Hope that helps Ron
  11. I've been using Gamma polyflex for many years and love it. Be aware of the diameters and don't go by the rated pound tests. I use 12# test on my heavier use baitcasters as it breaks at 20 pounds. Gamma has a breaking pound chart on their web page.
  12. Has anyone fished both rods and can make a comparison between the two? I'm looking at using a rod for ned rigs and finesse applications. I've fished the Cashion 6'10'' rod and really liked it but would like to hear from someone who has fished the longer Cashion rod and wonder how it compares to the Falcon rod. TIA, Ron
  13. I'm not a fan of fluorocarbon lines either and have tried all of the lines mentioned. I used to use YZH and still do somewhat but have used the Gamma Polyflex and prefer it over all others. It has a larger diameter than some but is very low memory. I also had issues with Fluoroclear breakage but the other P lines were ok. Give the Gamma a shot, I've switched several people over after trying it. Let me know your results, Thx Ron
