  1. Sorry , I was up a little tired :
  2. On the contrary, I doubt that a 12 year old has the patience to throw swimbaits or large worms, and jigs aren't exactly the best learnin' tools either.....................Just my two cents.
  3. Thanks again!! Really helpful And cool
  4. Try some small spinnerbaits and 4 inch finesse worms. These baits catch alot of smaller fish, but a 12year old just wants to catch fish If he likes it ( and he WILL ), upgrade to 7'' worms, toss in a couple poppers, a wakebait, and maybe a few senkos. Make sure ya don't keep him out to long, as he'll get bored :-[ Try a one on one tourny or two. It'll add more excitement
  5. X2!! I've heard a lot 'bout those stores, but I can't get to one. And ya can't order over the internet!!!!!
  6. Thanks for the heads up!!!
  7. X2!!!!!!!! Man, I'm stoked 'bout a four pounder!!!
  8. Thanks I will just be usin' what came in the package, and fishin' it in HEAVEY weeds. Thanks for the tips though 8-) Will definetly keep that in mind Anybody else wanna speak up ?
  9. The bags shouldn't take up that buch room. Just fold 'em up and stick 'em some where outta the way. Just make sure ya got 'em on hand for that hog!!!!
  10. Isn't the Shad a bit unrealistic for subsurface work? Also, Won't a shad color be out of order and a bit unsuccesful for ponds :-?
  11. Thanks for the help guys I just had a day with more stikes, no hook-ups :-[ I would let the fish take out the slack, but as soon as the slack was out, the fish would spit the frog before I could set the hook :-/ I set the hook fast, but no fish........AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Sounds like an interesting strategy : Actually, it sounds like it would work pretty well if it didn't spook the fish. An ounce and a quarter of led slammin' the water after fallin' thirty feet would make an interesting noise
  13. How do you guys rig these? Side ways, with the hook slot, or through the bulk of the plastic? Probally a newbie question :-[ but I've never fished 'em..........
  14. Anybody have any tips on fishin' these? I'll be throwin' the 4'' Hitch color on a 6'6" medium action baitcaster with 30lb. braid mainline with a 10lb mono leader. Any tips?
  15. Wally World in Alliance, Ohio
  16. They'e havin' a sale on ragetails. 1.00 a pack :o don't miss it!!
  17. Try an Eagle Claw Weedless hook, like the ones you see at Wally-World wih the wire weedguard. They have a nice long shank. Otherwise, I've done good with your standard widegap gammy.
  18. Thanks guys!!! I have to make up my mind................. Guess I won't know 'till checkout time :
  19. Happy it works for ya........just sorta seem not to get the bites :'(

I am goin' to the store tommorow and am confused... on a tight budget. Othewise I'd just take the shop home : I can't figure out if I want another Spro Bronzeye( Which I can't catch fish on worth a hoot), different Rage Tail baits( which kinda look good.......LOL), or what I'm really interested in, a pack of soft swimbaits. I've never used the soft swimbaits, but wanna check into 'em. I'll be usin' 'em in ponds, so I wanna bluegill color, if possible. So... what ya'll think........ froggy, rage tails, or swimmers?? Please help!!!
  21. I fail to concur. In most ponds, and even smaller lakes, I have great difficulty gettin' bites on anythin' shad colored (with the exception of a white spinnerbait).
