  1. Recent threads have got me to thinkin' about pond lures, and I'm wonderin' what ya'lls favorites are. Put as many as you like. Tell your favorite retrieves, WHATEVER. Mine would be: 1. Heddon Torpedo, smallest size, Baby Bass. Fish with short jerks on top of the waer. 2. Heddon Torpedo, next to smallest size, Brown Crawdad. Fished same as above. NOTE: The above lures are sometimes short struck. When this happens, let lure set for a couple sconds, then steadily twitch it in place. They'll eat it!! 8-) 3. Luck "E" Stike Razor Worm, any color. T-Rigged with a 1/8oz bullet weight fished on the bottom. 4. Booyah Pond Magic spinerbait, white. Trailed by a 2.5in Berkley Power Grub, and fished along the bottom, in the middle of the water, or burned. 5. Storm Wildeye Live Crappie, fished SLOWLY along the bottom. 6. 1/4 oz Wordens Rooster Tail, fished with a steady retrieve at various speeds. Coachdog is a good color, though I've never seen a Rooster Tail that wouldn't catch fish : 7. Storm Sub Wart, Bluegill. Wake it, crank it, burn it, or slow it down. It catches 'em any way its fished!! 8. Yo-Zuri Hardcore wakebait, Fietiger. Wake it!!! There are more, but this is my favrite group. So...Lets Hear Yours!!!
  2. PM me if you are serious about getting rid of your brush hogs X2!!! But coontreer had first dibs, so he gets first pick 8-) 8-) If your serious

Their are more if ya wanna know............................. :
  5. I almost ALWAYS bury my rod 3-4 feet into the water. I wanna land every fish that even looks at my lure, so unless I can see they're well hooked, I'm doin' everythin' I can to keep that fish down. My only exceptions would be weeds, and SMALL dinks, which I usuallly start skiin' between the hookset and tryin' to pull the fish away from cover. In that case, If they're on top of the water, I just keep 'em comin' and enjoy lookin' down the things mouths.
  6. Try using a "weigh bag". Place the fish in their, weigh it, subtract the weight of the bag, and viola', a safe way to weigh. Would this work for ya?

  13. So you're sayin' its a deep gamble on the Moonsault :-?
  14. Yeah, they were in a clam pack. I was steadily retrievin' them over pads and gunk, but they weren't hangin' up. I did have a couple "professional over-runs" so that might've caused it, but I don't know.......
  15. Yeah Really!!! Over how to get paint outta hook eye. Some of us must be B_O_R_E_D!!!!!!
  16. X2 on the knife. Use the point, place it with the point in the center of the hook eye, press and twist. Hope this helps ya!!
  17. I'm not ragin'......Tried 'em out yesterday, and they have a sweet action, and I did catch a bass on one, but I went through 3!!! The leggs kept rippin' :'( Twice, feet just came off.......... Not sure if it was me or not, but I am not sure if I'm gonna give the toads another try. They seemed good and durable ( except the feetsies!!), and cast a mile on 10lb. mono. I don't know.........
  18. Come on, cut him some slack guys!! He's thirteen for petes sake. At least hes gettin' into a good hobby/addiction.
  19. Thanks. Just what I was lookin' for
  20. Good Job!!! Love it when ya hook bottom and bottom suddenly tries to pull the rod outta your hand!!!!
  21. Good to hear ya caught one. All that keepin' at it WORKS!!! Am really happy to hear that!!! Keep it up!
  22. I'm gonna (Hopefully) try them out tommorow. I have another question. How do these things cast. They feel Nice an heavey, but I don't know how they'll throw...... I'll be tossin' 'em on a 6'6'' Medium action rod with 30lb. Power Pro.
  23. To Strike King Tube Technoligies baits. The old ones. Wild Thang, Tube Lizard, shad tube thingy.....all those. WHERE ARE THEY?? I looked on Strike Kings website and they didn't list 'em. HELP!!!!
  24. Try to make a LOW profile approach. I often crawl or scoot into position and try to be very quite. Make a soft presentation to those tree limbs, and that dock. Also, make the longest reasonable cast along those banks. There are irregularities along those banks that'll hold fish. But really, make a low profile approach, soft long casts, and hit the obvious structure. They will bite. Trust me. Also, try hopping a frog off the bank that you cast it onto is killer. Soft entry and VERY natural. You can even do it with t-rigged soft plastics( Like a Strike King Tube Technologies Wild Thang).
  25. A 7ft. 1pc. ML Shimano Convergance with 30lb. power pro is all I used for over a year with ribbits and the like. Works great.
