Why is it every time you try a new spot... should been here yesterday...
Happened yesterday. Launched and drove all around the d**n like for like 4 hours only to come back to some guy in a little paddle boat fly fishing, killing them right next to the launch. "I got about 20 in an hour!" Great, we caught 3 in 5 hours. Oh well, beats nailing your thingy to a burning building I guess. ;D

Richmond help...
We were out on the reservior yesterday and it was tough. Got three fish. Two of them coming though the middle of the lake casting out to no where with my senko on the retrieve. The water temp was between 90-95. I think the high water temp was 95.4. I don't think the fish bit as well because they thought they were chillin in a hot tub. Anyway, the place to launch your boat is off Woolridge. Electric only. Caught one on a popper near the end of the night when we heard some guy killin' it with flies. "As for Swft creek res, there's a bunch of drop offs that you can find with the depth finder and there's an old bed road that runs through the res." Drop offs? We probably didn't go to that part of the lake because the deepest I saw was about 9.8ft. The lake in general is very shallow.

I just recently bought a boat but I still love to shore fish. The picture in my avatar came from a small lake/pond in Clermont Fl. 6#. Even in lake now I'm getting the same stories.

Theories on Moon Effects on Bass.
3 days before and 3 after are always the best fishing. It's seemed to work every time I'm out.

Fishing was tough. Got 3 fish in about 2 hours off senkos. Water temp was 80 degrees. So can you get to the BIG reservoir from the boat launch in the park? Thanks guys.

I'm planning on taking my boat down to Pocahontas State Park this afternonon. I see Beaver Lake and Swift Creek Resv close to the park. Can you get to Swift Creek Lake as well from there? On google maps, it doesn't look like there is access to Swift Creek Lake from the park. Thanks.

No, my name is not Rowland Martin. It's amazing what a bass over 4 pounds does to someones brain. Heck it does something to mine.... but now I know the difference between a 4 and a 6-7. I just wanna be that... I-caught-a-7pd-bass-right-here-on-a-tube guy someday soon. Most of mine are lame 5pders.

I swear, if I try another spot and hear about the big one they caught a few days ago, I'm going to throw up in my mouth. Two times this week I've been told that not one but two 7+ came out of one pond in VA and another 7+ in a different pond in VA. I think it's funny though because I know when I caught my first 5, I thought it was a 7. I'm sure a lot of people do it. Does this happen to everyone?

does sunscreen/lotion have adverse effects on fish biting.
Most bass Fake N Bake.... or was it Shake N Bake. I lost count. I think one of the guys on the forum actually sprayed off directly on his bait and had the same catch rates. I wouldn't got squirting a tube of it on your spinning rod unless it has a soft complexion as well.

Finally a decent fish
Some people have way to much time on their hands if they are un-editing photos to find where people fish. What happened to the good ole honor system? I guess most people will do anything for a 10+. I just think it's stupid and disrespectful. I'm sorry some people just have no self respect. I'm not taking a shot at you Michelle, but the other idiots that have to get out of their mom's basement more often then when the Matrix Reloaded is playing on TNT again. :) Nice Hog. Where'd you catch it? Joking. We'll done.

Have you used it yet?

Fish Depth finder install for Jon Boat
Last, I added these clips for easy attachment to the battery. That's it. I hope this helps. Like I said, hopefully it still floats. Took about 1.5 hours in the heat outside in my backyard. Any comments or suggestions are welcome.

Another look from the front of the boat. I'm not completely done with the wires yet but they're in there for now.

I used a coat hanger to run the wires through the side of the seats to keep them out of the way and clean. I also had to extend the power wire to run it to the back of the boat.

After I ran the wire for the transducer through the hole, I had to drill a few other holes as seen here to secure the wire with zip ties.

Next, I mounted the transducer using plenty of sealant to be extra conscious of leaking. I also sealed the board on the inside of the transom.

Next, I drilled the hole to run the wire for the transducer. You can take it over the back of the boat but I wanted a cleaner look. I also took it close to the handle so I could zip tie it and still be able to use the handle if needed. You'll see that in a later pic.

Then I attached a half inch thick good quality outdoor wood (12x5) to the inside of the boat. This is to help with sealing the screws for the transducer mounted on the outside. I sealed it with marine grade sealant. Oh, and I added a much need cup holder for the back of the rear seat.

Then I found a good spot where I could reach and easily see the unit. Luckily, I had some screws because they weren't supplied.
