  1. Anyone using these? I picked one up on an impulse a month or two ago and I'm really impressed. It's light, sensitive, throws a wide range of lures and weights, and looks good to boot. Anyone know who's making these for Cabelas? It certainly doesn't have the sex appeal of a Loomis or Dobyns but for under $100 bucks, I'm thrilled. I might just pick a few more of these up as funds allow.
  2. Do-it, a company that specializes in kits for do-it-yourselfers, has a powder coat finish that is supposed to work. It's called Pro-Tec Powder Paint and comes in a ton of colors. It sells for around $7 a bottle I think. The only catch is it won't work on the tungsten weights that have the plastic insert because you have to heat the metal to get the finish to adhere.
  3. I saw the show BadKarma was talking about and it was pretty interesting although they tried to make it as dramatic as possible. They showed one guy over in Asia somewhere that was supposedly attacked by one, but I know of guys that have had pike take a whack at them but that doesn't make them the equivalent of a freshwater Jaws either. Any invasive species is bad news, but the way they make these Snakeheads sound so super aggressive, it should be a piece of to catch them and from what I hear, it's not that easy. I think the biggest problem they pose is competing with native fish for food. At the rate they reproduce, it could become a problem for sure.
