  1. BACKUP MONKEY......I HAVE GOT TO BUY GROCERIES
  2. A couple of more catches from Sunday. I am loving how the weather is warming up here, it is bringing the bite back on a little. A couple of pics are of the same fish, a nice lil 12-13", the box is 10" across and he overlaps it by a couple of inches
  3. The 7' Vendetta is awesome so far. I've only been able to fish it with lipless cranks, so for now, I can't say how it will work for other baits. I can't wait to use it with spinners/buzz baits. I have the 6'3" Vendetta already. It is an awesome stick. I have used it from everything from cranks/buzz baits, senkos. Fishing senkos with it, I find it to be sensitive enough for me, as all the bass that I've caught on it has basically caught it on the initial fall. I've pulled in a few off of the bottom, and I can feel every little tick from the fish, and even feel when it falls through the grass. I've found these rods to do what I need for them to do. Now someone who has fished other rods, and can feel things differently than what I do, might have a different opinion about them. But I love mine so far, and will probably add another to the collection, as these are some pretty good sticks for under $100
  4. Well I got my new setup all squared away, 7' MH Vendetta, Revo Premiere and I decided to head out to my favorite spot, which hasn't been producing for me lately. So I start out with a silver/blue back rat-l trap. I get the reel kinda setup and make my first cast. I've got to tell you the Revo Premiere is one heckuva reel, I LOVE THIS THING. It casts a soooo smoothly and reels in just as nice. So I continue fishing, not really expecting to catch much. So after about an hour of fishing, I start to head home and switch to a firetiger rat-l trap. Make a few casts, FISH ON. It was a little dink, but at least it was a fish. So I make a couple of more casts, and I feel that familiar tug tug I haven't felt in months, second fish on. Wowwww I am loving this new rod and reel, moving these little dinks around with no effort at all, and the smoothness of the reel, it felt as if I was pulling in a blue gill. I am going to love this upcoming fishing season, when does the warm weather REALLY start to come in, I'm getting the shakes just thinking about it. Here are a couple of pics of the dinks I pulled in today. Fish more....Stress less
  5. Welcome from another member. Will you plan to offer these other places besides Academy? I wouldn't mind picking up the shad series of swimbaits. I am liking the colors that is in the kits
  6. I remember a spool of mono did that to me, but that was back in the 80's
  7. Welcome. Why don't you introduce yourself. Please do Fishhunter, I've purchased the sunfish kit, and haven't had too many opportunities to get them wet
  8. Arrrggghhhhhhhh I knew I forgot something. I will be ordering something else here shortly and will ask about one then
  9. I think, I've found my new supplier of tackle to purchase from. They are great. I already have a 6'3" M Vendetta that I bought in the fall, and I have nothing but good things to say about this selection of rods. This will be my first ever 7' MH stick, so I am kind of anxious to see how it works for me. I've used nothing but medium action sticks my whole life in fishing, with one UL rod for crappie fishing. I will write a report once I can get back on the water and do some catching
  10. Those guys are the best!!!!! I ordered a new 7' MH Vendetta rod, late saturday night, and what do I see when I walk into work this morning???? A big long tube behind my receptionists desk. So I immediately go into detective mode. Hey...is that tube for me by any chance? And to my surprise, she said yes it is. So now I need for the weather to get back into the 50's like it should here, so that I can get out and try this thing out.... TACKLE WAREHOUSE...You can't go wrong with them. I am very very pleased with their shipping
  11. I've got some left handed screwdrivers, hammers, and some open end ratchet wrenches. Who is willing to trade for these
  12. I say get you a nice round log, place it on its end, set the reel on top of it, then get a 8lb maul and give it a whack or two....should pop right off after that
  13. Come on guys, ease up on the fella a little bit. He is obviously new to fishing, and he is looking to get a little info on what type of gear to purchase. Don't beat up on him too bad. You can go with a rod between 6' to 6'9", medium to medium heavy with a fast tip. That will get you in the ball park of what will feel pretty good to you. The amount of fish you catch is not relevant to what gear you use, it is about the presentation you put before the fish you are trying to catch. If you put the right presentation out there, you can use a stick with a shoe string and a paper clip for a hook and get them to bite.
  14. Santa gave you the wrong setup, that was suppose to come to me ;D Very nice setup
  15. Thats why I am loving Academy. I can get some Bandit 100 200 series cranks for a decent price, and also with H20 line of baits. I can really fill my tackle box, without have to totally empty my bank account
  16. I'll be sure to ask one of stock monkeys when I stop by on my way home tonight.
  17. Dag gummit....I was in there looking for the frog kit and could not find it in my local Academy :-/
  18. Do you have some room in a corner for a sleeping bag and a couple of rods/tackle box :-/
  19. You are right across the bridge where I am originally from. Don't get to upset, the weather has gotten us locked up in the house here in TX also. Sunday is suppose to be in the mid 60's, I think I'll go scout a few ponds then
  20. I've noticed that the H20 lineup is right along the line of the other higher priced lures. I do have a few of their cranks and they are some pretty good lures. They run true right out of the box and catch fish with no problems. Since the winter months are amongst us, I will be adding to my aresenal of lure selection and if I can save a few dollars and use that savings to get more lures, then that is a no brainer in my book.
  21. I think that they look ALOT alike. Not bad on the pricing either. Does anyone have any luck using the H20 frog? How well does it hold up, how are the hooks? Any info would be appreciated
  22. I would like to thank everyone for making me not do any work this morning!!!!! These are some awesome Pron fish pics, I am a fan of everyones postings, some really good gear everyone has. Like someone else said, from the least expensive to the most expensive. There is some awesome FISH CATCHING GEAR
  23. Steezy, I responded to your message on Friday, and was on my way to Commons. Windy, cold, but the sun was out. Did I mention how cold it was?? My fingers were blue after about an hour. Needless to say, I got skunked, but you are still pulling them in. CONGRATS on some nice catches
  24. WOWWWWWWWW I swear some of you cats have some nice gear, and the numbers of combos and spares amazes me......Makes me wanna go shopping
