  2. Let me know when you got some open space to fish it up. Im so anxious to get tear them up after all the drama with my car, I need to take it out on some bass
  3. Dam Simon those are some beauty's!
  4. I used to take a guide out on the James once a year. We would spend about an hour catching bait fish mostly chad. Cut into big chunks using a fish finder with 5oz triangle wieght, set it and forget it. Since then we have learned how to catch big cats in our area so we no longer need to drive almost 2hrs there and spend the big bucks for a guide.
  5. Dam Steve that first bass in the 2nd set of pics is a beauty!
  6. I read an article not to long ago about Lake Anna. It basically stated in the 80's fishermen could go out and catch as many as 40 bass a day. After they flooded the lake a lot of the vegetation and grass beds were destroyed which is what a lot of the fish rely on for food and shelter. Take that away and it becomes a lot harder. It still is a great place to fish mostly if you know someone with some experience on the lake. Nothing brings me more joy then to sit on my friends dock at night in silence and just catch whatever wants to bite
  7. So is low tide better for shore fishing?
  8. LOL yea thats Uber, that was my first catch of the year. Been bass fishing 6 times in the past month and only caught one little bass If i remember correctly that day we went my buddy said you cant keep any stripers so you guys are right. They have very strict rules on those fish. We used 30lb braid with 30lb big game leader, gammi 5/0 hook and a 3 oz weight with fresh shad as bait.
  9. Dan, i just fish for fun even though those stripers come in from the ocean to spawn i just feel bad keeping it. If and when i get a chance to go deep sea fishing this year i will def keep some fish. A.Do, im not exactly sure where, but i do remember where we launched from and i think i could possibility get within a couple hundred ft of where we were. We went out again a few days after on another friends boat but caught only catfish.
  10. Went out last week and had a pretty good day. The hardest part was catching the darn bait. All in all we got 2 stripers and 13 catfish.
  11. Nice catch mang, the wind was killer that day.
  12. I haven't been there in years but have a couple friends who fish there once in a while. They went out a couple weeks ago and caught a 5.5lb and a few 1-2lb. They set nets in the morning to catch baby chad and had all the luck with those. They stated they left the rigs with the chad and a bobber sit while using another rod. From what iv been hearing its real real tough so good luck and sorry couldn't be much help.
  13. on a spring scale? 7lbs on a digital? 5.5lbs ;D Dan thats awesome you caught that SH and can now scratch that one off your list. Did the fish put up a good fight, and also did you weigh it?
  14. Welcome mantis1, yea i just started bass fishing for the first time on my life and i started this past spring.
