when you direct tie a crank bait should you remove the split ring or tie to it?

i just put berkly vanish 12lb 100% flourocarbon on my president and im having promblems with my line twisting and jumping of my reel. i left enough space on my reel. its very frustrating, just wondering what you guys think?

well what is the best type of fishing that can be done on a spinning reel as apose to a baitcaster?

i was looking to get a pfluger president (president) and i was wondering if i should go with a 6 foot pole or a 7 foot pole. im not going to be using it for any specific type of fishing. but just curious to what you guys thought.

im looking to purchase my 1st baitcaster. I am looking for a nice rod and reel combo that isnt very exspensive. around 100$ preferably a little bit cheaper. what kind of line would you guys recommend also.
