Pinnacle Perfecta Cast Rod 7'6" Med Hvy
I'm thinking about getting this rod. Can anyone comment on the sensitivity? How much is lost compared to other models because it's telescopic?

MA Cabin-Fever Over Fishing Event
I just picked up on this thread and hope you guys do this again. I'd love to get out there if I'm free. I'm a non-boater in a bass club.

Thanks Pinnacle
I recently bought 3 Perfecta rods and matched them with Abu Garcia Revo Premier reels. The rods are so light, sensitive, balanced, and have good backbone to haul and control fish. The warranty, specs, components, and price are unbeatable. I don't know why you'd spend more on a rod. It's really unnecessary. They're my new go to along with Powell. My one warning is that these rods are stiffer than average so a Fast tip on this rod has different flex point than say a Shimano. That's fine but f you're buying without holding the rod, you should know that. I'd like to see some more styles and lengths like a Medium Heavy Medium Fast rod.

stick bait options ....
actually, i use those too and they're awesome. i think they're best for wacky rigging if you don't want to run through a lot of senkos. how are you getting the unheated shrink tubing on easily? or do the worms just easily pull through without getting torn?
-
stick bait options ....
well i can't wait to try this out. i should have some o rings in tomorrow from tackle warehouse among other things.
-
stick bait options ....
are you getting o rings or specific rubber tubing at a hardware store? all of this is great info. by the way. i was 100% texas rig until recently and i didn't have much wacky rig confidence. took a few trips but i finally caught one on it and then kept catching them so i'm sold. i quickly realized how easily it was to lose the worm on 1 fish.

stick bait options ....
CWB, thanks a lot. i figured that's how you do it. and thanks for the tip on the thinner o rings. i assume the double o ring doesn't change the action at all? maybe just a slightly quicker fall rate?

stick bait options ....
how do you do this exactly? Slip 2 O-Rings on the bait and position them in the middle. Pull one over the other so they form an X. Put your hook through the point where the 2 O-Rings cross, underneath both of them, and your hook will be 90 degrees to the bait, not parallel to it, which I believe increases hookups. If I had my stuff at the house here, I'd post a picture but it's actually pretty simple. I use gamakatsu widegap finesse weedless hooks, #2/0. Honestly, I do not think I have missed hooking a fish that bit. thank you. i have some o rings on the way and will check this out. would love to see a picture of this set up too if you get a chance.

Best Weedless Wacky Rig Hooks for Senko Action / Fall
What are some good weedless hooks to wacky rig Senkos so you get the same fall rate and action / wiggle? I have some of the 2/0 Gamakatsu weedless finesse wide gap hooks but they don't have enough weight. The senko drops very slowly and doesn't wiggle much. Should I get the 4/0 version of these? What else has enough weight?

Any MA guys bankfishing?
i was having some very good results and then the bite slowed down for a week or so and i would go out and only catch 1 or 2. got skunked once from the shore. i fished a tournament last weekend, tried out top water frogging for the first time and only caught 1 3 pounder. pretty exciting though. i think my shore fishing days are numbered though. i just can't go back to it after getting in any type of boat regularly.

Motor Boat Rentals in MA
thanks i'll check it out and hopefully they have motor boats.

Any MA guys bankfishing?
yeah jig, i did change it. i've been out a few times to various places and flukes, senkos, and cranks have been working for me. pretty much the stuff that works year round. water is still cooler so the action hasn't been as good for me. i think most fish have been reaction strikes so far.

Best Way to get the Senko Wiggle
some people say certain lures like the yum dinger has the same action but i personally think the senko has the best action...not the best price though obviously. i have tried the BPS knock off's and haven't had the same action. i'll give them another try in warmer weather and water and wacky rigged.

Motor Boat Rentals in MA
Other than the Quabbin Reservoir, are there any places where you can rent a motor boat for fresh water fishing in MA?

WNY/Rochester
i'm originally from rochester and my friend was looking for people who fish around the area - specifically mendon ponds park. he has a small boat and goes to mendon ponds park a lot so i sent him this thread. do the guys in rochester's bass-masters fish together a lot?

Any MA guys bankfishing?
nice, will do. when i'm out there, i stick to the charles usually and that's around the kayak place all the way up to the waltham dam stretch. norumbega area is the best. my best and first this year is a 3.1 lb pre-spawner. here's the big guy on the charles. you can probably guess the location...

Best Way to get the Senko Wiggle
nice thanks for all the tips. i'm not using a leader and really suspect it's the cold water along with it soaking up in the senko itself. i might try wacky rigging it too but i usually go weightless and texposed or texas rigged in and around cover where i fish.
-
Best Way to get the Senko Wiggle
ok thanks. i do that as well. do you think the colder water has anything to do with it?

Any MA guys bankfishing?
jig, whereabouts in MA are you? sounds like fish some common places...i'm on the charles pretty frequently.

Best Way to get the Senko Wiggle
i've been noticing that i'm sometimes not getting the same senko wiggle action as in the past. i'm rigging it the same as i always do - texas / weightless. are there certain factors that would cause a senko to get less action? colder water (50s here as opposed to late summer)? specific line (last year used mono. now i have 8 lb pline floroclear)? any ideas?

Fishing Line Color
yeah that makes sense. most of the areas around here have pretty stained water. definitely nothing crystal clear that i've seen yet that's for sure.
-
Fishing Line Color
Ok great. Thanks for all of the information, it's very helpful. I think where I fish the water is usually stained but there are places where it's clear so a clear line would work in all situations since I don't really have a preference. I wanted to see how people felt about clear line in dark water when a lot of people out there are always using something darker like a green color. Again, thanks a ton.

Fishing Line Color
I was looking into buying some Fluoroclear or Flurocarbon line and saw both the clear and green colors. I know that fishing clear water requires clear line but what exactly is the difference between clear or green line in stained water? Does this even matter? Is one better than the other and why?
