  1. I'm thinking of heading to Codorus lake on Monday and Tuesday was just wondering how the fishing there is. Haven't fished that lake in years as I live about 5 mins from Pinchot lake and spend most of my days there.
  2. Bigbill I have to agree with ya on that one. It sure is alot more peaceful at the wee early mornings. Brian, I too have done more night fishing this year than during the day. Specially last month in Pa we had a long hot streak of weather that brought water temps up close to 90! As far as the bugs go. The first few times I got bit to hell even with bug spray. I found that dabbing some Vicks vapor rub on random parts of my body and clothes works wonders! Seen it on FB and gave it a try!
  3. Hey All, A friend and I are looking to start making plastic worms on our own. I am looking for advice on a good quality "kit" to get us started. I am looking for one where we are able to create our own master mold. We were out on on the lake the other day and was not doing very well as far as catching fish goes. The heat of course was not helping matters any. We tried throwing everything we had in our tackle boxes at them with no luck at all. I have always been the type to come up with random baits that would work that the average fisher don't use on a regular basis. So I got out a 10" plastic worm and my handy dandy scissors. I then began to perform "surgery" on this worm carving out its body and tail. After about a half hour later I was finally done and started fishing with it in the same spots we previously were having no luck. Loh and behold I was catching fish after fish. I then made a few others since they were working and gave one to my friend who was also catching them. I attached a few of the fish that were caught. What im looking for is a GOOD Quality plastic kit that would allow me to make my own custom mold. Thanks All!
  4. Ohhhh Good tip! Didn't even think about that. That was about the only problem last night was I couldn't see my line very well. Im a line watcher so it made it a bit difficult! I will defiantly have to look into that type of line!
  5. So tonight was my very first time going night fishing for Bass. I have gone out many times before for Channel Cats but never Bass. I must say...I'm now H00ked! We went out only for a few hours just to try it out and ended up staying longer than we wanted to do to the fact that we were catching so many fish! I dont think Ive caught as many bass all season during the day as I did tonight! Anyone else swear by Night Fishing for bass?
  6. Hey all! Planning a fishing/boating trip with a friend of mine on Monday and Tuesday at Codorus. I was just wondering how the fishing is there? I haven't fished Codorus in about 5-7 years so any tips/tricks/advice would be great! Thanks in advance!
  7. Thanks Speedbead. Think were gonna try and fish the coves today from shore. The ole boat can take a break today wit hthe winds. LOL
  8. Anyone know of any good Bass fishing ponds in the York, Hanover, Harrisburg, or surrounding areas? Looking for a pond that isn't not over fished. I dont mind hiking so it dont need to be a pull up, park and fish. Thanks!
  9. Thanks Ian. We managed to go out yesterday and there were alot of peole out fishing. We managed to boat a total of 2 both 15 inches not sure on weight as I didnt bring my full tackle. Both were caught on Senkos and was in the cove right outside the main beach area. Thanks for your tips will definatly keep them in mind when I go out this weekend.
  10. Taking the ole trusty canoe out on Sunday to Pinchot Lake for the first time this year. Anyone having any luck on this lake? Did alright last year but I didnt really know the lake that well. So hope to change that this year thanks to a lake map.
  11. I asked a question about this creek and then rememebred that its trout waters so I removed the post...where did the time go!?!?!?!? If someone can remove this post then so be it.
  12. THANKS!!! Will def be contacting him! Will keep ya posted!
  13. I bought a fixer upper boat over the winter and have gotten to the fiberglass repairs and painting part of it. I was wondering if anyone could give me some Shops in PA that are reliable and can do small Fiberglass repairs (Just some little cracks) as well as a good paint job. I live in Dover,Pa and willing to travel if needed would to stick with the Harrisburg or York aera but not a must. Thanks!
  14. FINALLY boated a few today..one of which was a 4lb bass. If your fishing there and are having a hard time i recomend fishing the grass with a natural looking worm or tube worm. Good Luck all!
