  1. I'm fishing a watershed lake -known for big bass( many caught over 10 lbs) and believed to contain the next state record. Give me some ideas on zeroing in on big bass. Bigger baits? Slower presentation? OR just percentage of cast, patience, and persistance?
  2. it's all about what you're confident with. You may be like me and have more confidence with big lipped cranks instead of lipless cranks. I fish a similar lake and have had great luck with splatterback DD22, Splatterback DD14's, and StrikeKing Series 6 splatterback cranks--can't tell you why or what they're imitating--they've just worked. I agree with the above post, we might be better off fishing a lip less crank!! :
  3. fished today with very little luck--only caught babies. Talked to some good fishermen at the put-in and both said the bass had moved out of the creeks into the grass flats off the creeks and both had good luck with rat-l-traps. I don't own a rat-l-trap!! Tell me what to go get, color, size, and how to fish them. I think the flats are in about 8-12 foot of water. When I fish DD22's in the 12-16 foot deep creeks and miss the creek I get into grass. Help for a newbie ;D
  4. I really owe this website credit for the 9.9 lb. pictured to the left. Starting reading post about two weeks ago. Read one last weekend about fishing new baits exclusively and leaving what you are comfortable with a home. After Church last Sunday -decided to go to my favorite lake and only took Strike King Series 6's and DD22--If I've ever caught a fish on a big, deep Crank--I've forgotten about it(always only fished plastics and spinnerbaits). Caught this pigg after about 1 hour of fishing---thanx to whoever started that thread Dr PIGG
  5. My wife just told me to get off the D--- computer--I've disturbed her TV watching -Laughing my rim off at this thread. If ya'll don't make as pro fishermen--comedy is your calling--Doc
  6. Got to be some novel idea to save hung up cranks! DD22's through tree tops and stumps? I've read about "popping the line like a bow & arrow? don't get it! Sliding a spark plug with chain attached down the line to hang the trebles--anybody tried this? :'(
  7. Sorry I forgot to mention it-I released it!!
  8. caught this yesterday on series 6 strike king splatterback. Fishing 9-10 foot of water, coming across 15-16 foot deep ditch. Cranked 5-6 times to get it down, then 2 cranks and a pause. Could feel it hitting my side of the ditch. Caught on about 10th cast into same spot, just as it hit my side of ditch-really felt nothing different--except it had a little wiggle as I put on pressure.
